[mlkfaa] - Labatis's Album -> From Here On Out - Angus Death

...I'll wear this face for both of us.

-

Angus, now old and weary, watched as the moon rose above the trees. Tonight was going to be different. He was going to do something he thought he'd never do- go home.
He moved slowly, but eventually was at his old pride. Long abandoned, but still familiar.

Angus sat on the edge of a small boulder, the same place he sat with Perdut during his first thunderstorm. He began to stare at the night sky. Not once did his eyes leave it, until he fell asleep.

--

It was dark. Very, very, dark. He could hardly see his own paws. He was paralyzed, laying on what seemed to be an invisible floor, helpless.
That's when he saw it. A small light, and a familiar brown-coated adolescent. It was Perdut. At first, Angus panicked, fearing what injuries he might find along his younger brother's body. He closed his eyes tightly, for he didn't want to see his disappointed face when he was close enough.

Everything remained quiet, but he could feel a warm light growing closer. A paw touched his mane, alerting him enough to open his eyes.
Angus was in complete shock. Perdut wasn't injured nor disappointed in him, in fact, he looked genuinely happy to see him. As if Angus had never wronged him. Just as he was about to question if he was alright, the young adolescent began to speak.

"Don't you fear for me, I'm where I'm supposed to be."

Angus choked up, tears racing down his face. He felt... accepted by his younger brother.
Perdut then gestured towards the light, inviting him to join. Almost immediately, Angus nodded, no longer paralyzed.
One by one, pride members appeared in this beautiful field, all smiling and welcoming him. They began to follow after the two, and they continued to walk along an almost endless trail.

--

Hours later, and Angus didn't budge.
The sun rose, but Angus didn't rise with it.

He was finally at peace.
