Animation looks quite crumby...

A truly huge difference between handmade and computer painting. Well, it's already 2015 after all. (But I want to complain about Simba's face. They make his eyes too big and too close, and that makes him look more like a teenager, not an adult. Nala is fine.)

It's not because it's done on the computer, it's quite possible to replicate the style of the first movie with digital paintings, I've done it better than TLG; the main issue I've noticed with this animation is their paws look like crap and so do their mouths. It's just the style they chose that's bad. If they put in more time and money, it could easily look just like the films drawn digitally.

This actually looks a lot like Jake and the Neverland Pirates to me.

I agree that the animation is pretty bad considering this is Disney. But here's my two cents.

MLP raised the bar for me in terms of animation quality. The characters move with such character and finesse especially in the last couple seasons. It was decent in season 1 and noticeably got better with each season. We're on season 5 and just about every scene feels so genuine and fluid.

This is the way I hope it goes with TLG. The animation might be a little awkward now, but if they take time and care and they have motivation to keep making the show, eventually, TLG could be a really awesome show with really impressive animation.
