The Guard's Cutie Marks

I know much has been said about this topic, but I just want to reiterate for fans of My Little Pony: does The Lion Guard look awfully familiar to you? Especially with that mark on Kion's shoulder.

MLP was not the first thing to have magical marks for power upgrades nor the change of a body part.

Tattoos don't show up when you discover your destiny. If Kion was born with the symbol or if it was painted on by Rafiki or something, this cutie mark joke might not have stuck as much as it has. Which brings me to another point.

It's a joke. MLP fans don't actually believe there's a tie in to MLP. I don't understand all the hostility over this. If you don't want to talk about this topic, that doesn't mean nobody else is allowed to. Nobody is forcing you to participate in the discussion of this joke.

Chill out guys :p. Mlp isn't a Taboo. I have to admit that when I saw the video, I thought of MLP and cutie marks which amused me. But I don't think there's any connection. It's just similar. Guess we'll find out more when the film is released.

From what I've seen in the trailer, apparently ALL the members of the lion guard get that mark, not just Kion. I don't know about you, but I think this is starting to sound more and more familiar. Thoughts?
