Khary Paton, the new VA for Rafiki said on Twitter that it does take place after TLK2. However, i'm gonna take it with a grain of salt for the moment till the movie comes out and whatnot.

Zuri is a "canon" character in TLG. There was an interview where the VA talked about zuri and called her a "fashionista" but didnt give away what animal she is
