That's it! I think I figured everything out.

Kion is a figment of Kiaras imagination.
After her brother, Kopa died, she couldn't handle the stress and grief so her mind created Kion, to help her cope with the loss of her dearest big brother. We see TLK2 from Simbas point of view but we see TLG from Kiaras point of view.

Honestly, this doesn't come as much of a surprise to me (if it turns out to be Kiara, which, honestly, I believe it is right now... Or the artists are getting very, very lazy in cub design). Although most people expected Kiara to be an adult, I kinda didn't, for some reason?

1: why does kiara want to be a queen, let alone a princess?

2: if kiara is still a cub, given kions age she shouldn't be given maturation rates of lions, shouldn't simba be overprotective of her and kion? Why would simba just allow his young daughter and son to just run around?

I mean it makes sense for kion to be running around unsupervised post tlk2 but.... Not if this takes places during the tlk2 timeline.

3: if this takes place during tlk2 wouldn't the hyenas be gone?

4: The first cover was a fake. On the current cover there is no mentioning of the author or the artist.... What's up with that? Shouldn't that kind of thing be on a finalized cover?

And this is why I didn't have any high hopes for TLG. Saved me some anger when the obvious became obvious.

Speaking as an older fan that didn't particularly like how TLKII handled its ideas and the way it built off of the original feature, I actually wouldn't mind it if TLKII's events were retconned out of existence.

With that said, I find this revealed cover to be questionable. It's difficult to find usage of it anywhere else online, and it clashes with the D23 information already given to us some time ago. The entire concept is built around Kion being a second born, with Kiara being the older of the two. Them being shown as borderline littermates clashes with the show's whole premise. The artist commissioned for the cover was most likely unaware of how she is supposed to look.

I agree on the whole "kiara wanting to be queen" thing. It doesnt make sense. But then again, I feel like Disney wouldn't pay attention. I think they would just be like "we cant add another child and not mention the other one because of the fans" and they just throw her in there, have some sibling comradery and rivalry. I feel since the second movie didnt do as well, they wouldnt worry about such things. I mean it would be ridiculous since you're changing an entire personality, but disney doesnt always do the smart thing. Remember Pocahontas 2?

Also, this one doesnt say that it may be subject to change like the other covers did

Second movie didn't do so well? Last time I checked it was the highest selling disney dtv movie at 17 million copies sold...

Well, while it wasn't good they tried to be more historically accurate with Pocahontas 2, they can't do that with TLK. Honestly, this could be real, but with all the false info we've received so far, I don't think we should take this too seriously just yet. It doesn’t make sense with what Disney has said, and may not even be real.

So many people dont know about it though. It didnt do AS well is what I meant. I think they released it weird. It wasnt in theatres. I was a huge fan as a kid of TLK but I think I found out about the sequel a little later than it was released

ok can we please stop the negative talk with TLK 2 as some of us still love it, back to kIara now.

I did some voice actor Research and the voice for Kiara is Eden Rigal, now listening to her voice on you tube, I cant see her voicing Kiara as a cub she sounds more like she will be voicing Kiara as an adult, to me it makes more sense.
