Emotional. My dad was upset about not being able to find any of his underwear (as if that's our fault), and then he caught my sister on his computer and yelled at her, and then found a dress that he recently bought on the floor in the dirty clothes pile (my sister was the last one to wear it - when she was trying it on - so I think she put it in the laundry basket, which is how it ended up on the floor, but my dad blames me for it (no surprise there. He blames me for everything)). I thought about showing him and my brothers my BFF's drawing, but not if he's going to act like that. He'll probably diss her drawing, and I don't want that for her. I should have given him the note, because then he would have known that mistreating the things he buys me is not how I "thank" him, although that might have also added more fuel to his shouting. Not the best way to end the night, but I'd rather cry myself to sleep then try to sort things out with him, especially since it'll probably end in disaster and more crying anyways.

^ Sorry to hear it. =/

I'm feeling relieved. I love that kid, but he can be quite the handful; I'm glad his dad took him home now.

Well since I only work there part time to earn a bit of extra money to invest in my own buI siness, I pretty much just mess around in there and have a laugh with my colleagues and customers.

So a customer comes in with a load of 5ps and asked me to change them for her (there's about three pounds worth so about 60 of them) and I'm like "Yeah sure" it's late, we don't need the change that time of night anyway.
My colleague comes along later and takes that till off and says "For Gods sake, who put a load of 5ps in here?"
So I'm like "Uhhh me, you know, the one who has been on the till this evening."
She says "Yeah well I have to go count that all now, if you do it again, I'll slit your throat."

Is this some kind of joke I'm not in on? Because as far as I'm concerned there's a place for people who say stuff like that, and it's called a mental institution, not working in retail where you are working with members of the public.

It's the way she said it where it's like... You could tell she didn't really mean it but at the same time it had an element of "Oh God that slipped out, I didn't mean to say it." to it.

There's me going out of my way to make life better for other people around me and in return I get death threats? Lol.

So what do you think, beautiful people? Report it and get her fired (I doubt anyone else would take her on) or leave it and assume it was a joke (which it's still a very weird thing to joke about).
Because I don't think people like that should have jobs, for their own safety and for everyone else's.
But at the same time I'd feel a bit bad if I reported it and she got sacked.
I've been on fairly good terms with her up until now as well.
So maybe it wasn't to be taken seriously...
But there's a million better ways to imply a joke than making a false death threat.. Isn't there?!

The things that happen when you work in retail.
.. My god I can't wait to be fully self employed.

Just sounds like an off kilter joke, definitely in bad taste but not sure if it's worth reporting her over. Not saying not to take it seriously, be cautious, but just don't be paranoid about it, too.

Yeh, that's a very odd and rather violent sounding joke.... As it's obviously upset you a bit and is on your mind, maybe have a word with her rather than report it straight to your manager. Just say you didn't find it very funny and maybe mention about the fact you've had a knife pulled on you before. If she acts hostile in return, tell your manager, but if shes genuinely sorry then you have cleared the air :)

I feel tired again, but I am glad I managed to get in another hours sleep :)

Happy :cutenala: Got a letter from my bank earlier about low interest loans and I can take one out to pay for a car and our wedding next year and my repayments each month would be so doable ^^ Me and my partner are actually going to be writing up the guest list tomorrow aswell as calling a few places for the after party :excited:

Yeah, that sounds pretty weird. I mean I get banter between coworkers and stuff but that's just awkward, especially if you didn't know her that well. Perhaps she was trying to joke but messed up somewhere? :/ IDK. You're right about the Adofo similarity though, at least with the whole "kind-of-a-joke-but-at-the-same-time-not-really". I'd just keep a close eye on her and maybe talk to her about it. If you feel like she genuinely apologizes or explains herself then no big deal but if it continues or gets worse then talking to a manager might be the proactive thing to do.

At least that's my opinion.
