Don't worry about it unless she does it again. She said something dumb but it was just a meaningless slip up.

If she does it again then you should probably complain.
Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves back up again.

Oh okay. Well good to know it's just me who thinks it's a bit weird to threaten people with violence as a joke.
It's different if... I mean I like banter at work as much as the next guy, but I think its a bit odd to verbally abuse someone or threaten them and then be like "lol only joking" pretty sure we all just got done calling Adofo a psycho for doing that

I'm not saying it's normal, just that you shouldn't worry until she does it again.

I'd be concerned about it too, but I don't think I'd report her at first at least. It's a tough call. =/

It depends on the person making the joke threat. Like I say, I make those kinds of jokes at work all the time, but only to people who know me well and know that I'm being ironic, because I'm actually a very passive person. I wouldn't make such jokes to someone who I wasn't sure wouldn't get that it's not a genuine joke.

If you have to tell the person that you were making the joke threat to that you were "only joking" then no, you probably shouldn't be having that kind of joke with that person.

Yeah but I do stuff similar to that as well. But "I'll slit your throat" isn't a joke in any way.. It's not even funny...
I don't know, I'm tired and probably just didn't get it.
Everyone has a line I suppose where it goes from being a joke to just being a butt and to me, threats of violence, in the way that one went down is just not funny.
Someone else might find it hilarious but as someone who actually has had a knife pulled out on them before, I don't really get the joke there.

I'll see how it goes I guess, if my throat remains intact then I'll know it was a joke. Lol

^ Ah, see, that explains it then. You are sensitive to that joke threat, because you've genuinely been threatened with a knife. If she had threatened to batter you with a cabbage, you'd probably not be so upset about it. You should just tell her that you are aware it was just a joke, but as you've had a knife pulled on you before, you don't really appreciate that humour.
