Oh, yeah. You're not a real author if you don't write mindbogglingly dry and constipated epic books you know. All my classes that have touched any "classic" literature have been an incredibly f*cking boring waste of time so insightful and dramatic. I just can't handle it, and neither can my heart or mind. It's why I read fiction books every day, they increased my love of reading so much. I could never hope to come anywhere close with my own works. They're too entertaining.
