My thoughts exactly. Nala and android 18... Vitani and Vegeta.... WTF?

I don't think the Dragonball Z characters can be compared to the TLK characters at all, they're so diffrent. Scar isn't anything like Frieza, since Frieza is overconfident over his ability and power while Scar is a coward who prefers running away from a fight. Mufasa and Krillin? This one makes the least sense of them all...

Since there are major spoilers, almost the entire post will be spoiler tagged.

Frieza/scar were the villains who were the masterminds behind almost everything leading up to the final confrontation of what is considered the most important chapters of dbz/tlk.

Mufasa and krillin were killed. Krillin by frieza and mufasa by scar.

Vegeta was a villain who became more of an anti hero/almost hero, vitani took the side of the pridelanders at the end of tlk2.

Kovu/trunks. Prettyboys with high levels of strength but not the strongest.

Simba/goku. The hero of their stories. Both are fathers.

Kiara/pan. This one I will admit I BS'd on.

Nala/android 18. They are both strong characters, arguably the strongest females in each franchise.

Zira/pre dbz piccolo. Pre dbz piccolo was pretty ruthless, wanted to kill anyone he wanted and become the ruler of earth. Zira wanted to kill simba and assumingly anyone who got in the way of her becoming the ruler of pride rock.


Zazu/yamcha. Side characters who were originally important and gradually less important. Also very weak in power.

The ginyu force/hyenas. Groups of villains with enough power to crush those weaker than them but easily destroyed by even one character with greater power than all as an individual.

Jackie chun/rafiki. I probably should have chosen roshi for rafiki. Jackie was just his alter ego.

Sarabi/chichi. Both are strong females who are very motherly.

Sarafina/videl. Both started off with little screentime and are eventually forgotten.


Kion/goten. Both are young male characters, sons of the original male lead, created years after the original series/movie happened.

All this talk of Dragon Ball compared to the Lion King oddly makes me feel like this.

Vegeta is for most of the show an anti-hero, while Vitani was for the entire movie a villain until the near end. Don't mistake a redeemed villain for an anti hero. And the Krillin-Mufasa link just doesn't hit me. He reminds me nothing like Mufasa since he got killed and wished back to life shortly after he died, neither did his spirit kind of influence Goku in any way. All the other character comparisons still make no sense to me at all. If that is the way you view things, thats fine. Who am I to judge? But personally I don't think comparing TLK characters with DBZ characters is possible, and to be honest, it's kind of silly.
