Will the show be canon?

To me it's canon because unlike the timon and pumbaa show or tlk1.5 it's a continuation of the lion kings story. That and it's officially by Disney themselves.

Well, like I said, continuation doesn't mean canon. I can say my fan fic is a continuation. If they were more specific like they said it's a sequel to the movies, then that's a little bit more concrete. The books with Kopa are ALSO a "continuation" so....yeah.

The main difference between that and tlg is that tlg is officially by Disney, not fan created or a company not affiliated by Disney. The lion king six new adventures was created by a company that is unaffiliated with Disney.

Kopa is kinda like sally acorn in the sonic universe, or fara phoenix in star fox. It sucks for fans of these characters but they aren't considered to be official characters in their respective universes.

One thing you forgot. The books were published by Disney. So it has SOME credibility. Not a lot. But some. Also, one thing I just thought about. How many spin off shows by Disney are actually labeled as canon to their films? The only one I can think of is The Lilo and Stitch series. But they made the movie with a series in mind.

I'll give you that at least.

I just think that because

1: it's an in-house production by Disney
2: it's a continuation of the first two films

And

3: Disney seems to be taking it somewhat seriously

That it being canon isn't out of the realm of possibility, far from it.

Well, like others on this topic have said, it may be completely up to the fans what the real canon story is.

Most fans have hated the idea of this show for the past year without having seen any real footage so i'm not going to agree with that.

Maybe if most of the hate came after seeing it, but by now it's too late for that as they are already going to hate it regardless of quality.

Well, I do agree that they shouldn't hate it until they see it for themselves. That's just unfair for them to judge this early.

I have no idea how good this show will be when it airs. My stance has been hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

The only thing pointing towards a lack of quality is Kions tattoo, pointing towards it being good is that i've noticed four of the people I have seen on twitter who are working on it seem to be very enthusiastic about it.

If the audition dialogue was real, this isn't lion king: toddler edition. The dialogue was pretty heavy at times.

Yeah. I mean, until it releases, literally ANYTHING can happen. Even just the day before the TV movie comes out, Disney says "Nope! Shut it down! Throw it all away. It's cancelled." I mean it has happened before. I don't know with anything Disney, but it has happened with things before. But something more likely than that is everything that has been known about The Lion Guard right now, could not make it into the final project. I mean, Kion could even for some reason or another be scrapped and replaced with Kopa. Like I said, anything can happen until it comes out.
