True. I always forget how different the color schemes are until I see a side by side shot of him from both movies.

That nose color is just weird in comparison. I do hope his mane goes back to being slightly scruffy though, I think it makes him more dashing (although the SP one's smoothness is very regal.

Simba's mane is SP looks more puffed out, I hope they keep it like that, because he looks like an actual father with it.

Also looking back at Mufasa's design, I think it was more a question of SP not including as many mane details. I also hope the darker scruff stays as dark as it was in SP.

I share the same opinion. The mane in SP is good and it makes Simba look older and more mature - basically, more Mufasa - but I think that it doesn't look as detailed as TLK's. Also, I've always seen the scruffiness it had on TLK as kind of unique and a reflection of a part of Simba (His playful, carefree way). Yes, he's not as carefree in SP - well, duh - but it doesn't mean he still isn't, at times. The colour scheme could have been altered and the same design kept.

It will be really fun to see how King Simba is when he hasn't got a hostile pride to deal with. I'm not sure if we know whether the show is before or after SP but if it's after (as would make most sense) we'll get to see him as King but without his SP overprotectiveness. Even in SP some of his natural dorkiness showed through.

I was doing a bit of research on chris willis, the composer for the lion guard.

Last year he won a musical annie for the recent mickey mouse shorts. He also worked on a few of the songs for a film which i am very fond of that has a great soundtrack, x-men first class.

Not hans zimmer, but I think the music is in good hands.

After reading this I think he might be the right man for the lion guard.

As they have stated that Kion's older sister, Kiara, is the future queen, I feel it is very safe to assume they aren't breaking the continuity of the films. If they put Kion's shenanigans anywhere other than after SP in the timeline, with what's been stated, they'd have to discount SP which would defeat the purpose of keeping Kiara on as an older sibling and the one in line for the throne.

True, though until we get some sort of (good) confirmation I wouldn't put it past them for the series to take place in the time skip within SP, especially if the series heavily focuses on Kion and the adventures aren't related to anyone else.

Alas we are doomed to just speculation until either Kiara (and/or Kovu's) VAs are announced or until we get more than 5 seconds of footage ;)

Good work, that is one less thing worry about.

It was Disney that stated that Kiara is Kion's older sister. That is a good source. It would not make sense for them to alter the events of existing movies, when all the press that has come out thus far is all but screaming that The Lion Guard takes place after Lion King 2.
