"We are all rogues." the lioness said. "and I know of you through rumor spread among all the birds of the plains. Are you not Kuvu, the future king?"

"Yes I am Kovu but I am THE king of the Pridelands." Kovu happened to look at the scars all over her and said, "Uh where did you get those scars from?"

"I was attacked as a cub... by some scrawny, evil, unhealthy-looking lions..." She said, looking at the ground.

Kovu felt really bad. "I am sorry about that I had no idea. Please forgive me." Kovu then bowed to her. "Listen can you bring me to the leader of this pride? I really need to see if he can do something for me to get me back to my land."

"You don't have to be sorry, it wasn't your fault. And like I said, we are rogues. We fight each other for food. We're not friends. As for getting home, maybe you should just retrace your steps." a rain started. "But hurry before your scent trail is washed away!"

"Retrace my steps? Lady the steps go back to the land where the lions there want me dead! I am lost. I do not know where to go! Wait are you telling me you are all alone out here? Ever loved someone?" Kovu was curious because he never saw lionesses go out on their own away from the pride besides his mother and the other Outlanders.

"Yes..." she said, "I am alone. We all are. I've never loved anyone, and probably never will." just then, a leopard showed up behind Kovu. The lioness froze, trying to secretly alert Kovu of the animal behind him, without letting the leopard know she knew...

Kovu continued to look obliovusly that something was behind him. The lioness was acting really strange so Kovu said, "Yes is there something wrong? Why are you acting strange?" Kovu continued to just stand there and said, "Anyway..."
