"Why should you be sorry?" Chaltuu demanded. Though her voice was gruff and harsh, her anger seemed to ebb away in spite of herself. Granted, she was still irritated, but she had lost some of the repressed fury she had been containing for so long.

"S'fine," Chaltuu replied gruffly. "We all make mistakes. I don't care anymore."

He gently nuzzled his muzzle into her cheek

Chaltuu scowled at the ground. "Hamadou, you're not going to be able to change me," she said gruffly. "I hope you know that."
