Nah, the Disney classics are so watered down.

I thought maleficent was dark in all the wrong places and where it should have been dark it..... Wasn't.

And there's one big missed opportunity in the movie, one of the most memorable scenes from the animated version was ruined.

I haven't seen Maleficent yet, so I can't comment on it, and it's been a while since I saw Alice in Wonderland.

Also a lot of those fairy tales were dark because they were made as cautionary tales.

Removing the dark elements can be seen as watering them down but life is depressing enough as it is. I don't want my entertainment to depress me as well.

Also, if my entertainment were all happier than my life, I'd feel a helluva lot worse. I'm better able to cope when I can see how good (comparatively) I have it.

It's not like i hate dark elements, or even dark movies. I just like them to have a tinge of hope.

I'm not going to watch the clip since I'm on my phone and I've seen The Dark Knight Rises. It's quite honestly the film that made me like Batman. I watched it on the plane across the Atlantic to Finland last summer, after not having seen the preceeding films, and was quite impressed. I have since seen Batman Begins, but not The Dark Knight as yet.

I love the nolan batman films. While the dark knight is a little overhyped, still a great movie that's incredibly quotable.

Dunno if you saw interstellar but i loved it.

I haven't. I don't have money so I can't go to theatres or buy movies, and as such it takes me a long time to see anything, and so I'm quite choosy when I do get the chance.
