Remember that BBCode can be used to display pictures in posts and your signature block. To use BBCode, use the buttons above the textbox. "Img" is the button you're looking for to display an image in your signature. To learn more about BBCode, check out this topic: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=40

To upload an image from your computer to the internet, you'll need to use a free website that allows you to do so. I would recommend ImageShack or Photobucket.

I have a question which was not covered in the rules for signature's part. My question is can the signature be animated like .gif and what is the max file size allowed?

You just upload it to a photo server like Photobucket. Is that the answer? Yes, you can use Gif as long as you upload it to a photo server. (Tinypic is good if you don't want to make an account)
