[Open] Lion King III: Scars of the past

Nala never, not for a second, kept her eyes off the male - even when he was behind her, she still kept him in sight, flexing her paws subtly.
"No, they can't. Since Scar took over, they have no reason to." Even though her words sounding strong and stable, she was shaky inside. The hyenas were sly, twisted creatures - if they wanted to attack them, they could, more easily than ever, and it would be hard for two adolescent lions to shake off a whole pack. No doubt, this lion would just stand on the sidelines and watch them get ripped apart.

"You sure?". Danganya had been watching everything closely since Mufasa and Simba left. He knew that some hyenas had not followed Scar.
He felt really evil, but deep inside he didn't want anything to happen to Nala.

"Of course I'm sure. The hyenas - they have more than enough food, more so than even some of us lions. And they can be free in the Pridelands - they shouldn't have any reason to harbour hate for us."

Nala was spinning excuses from her mind like a spider spinning string. Despite her strong arguments, her eyes flickered to the shadows of the termite mound - any hyena-shaped? Any suspicious glint of teeth?
None that she could see.

"We are sure. Believe me. No Hyena would be dumb enough to defy Scar." Taka growled, not even referring to the king as his father. He had learned to try and suppress the facts that he wished were not true rather then crying over them. Taka looked to Nala, and then to Dangaya.

"Get out of the way. We are going back to pride rock." Taka muttered, not liking this lion at all. He spoke and talked in a way, as if he had authority. Taka was never good on taking orders from anyone but his father. In fact at times, he would be somewhat of a control freak.

Danganya looked at a small cave behind the Pride Rock. "If you need me, you know where to find me".
Then he put a little smile in one side of his face

Nala's face split into a grin when Taka spoke up; he sounded authoritative and strong, exactly how she wanted him to be. She gladly followed him back towards Pride Rock, smiling smugly at Danganya.
"Yeah, 'cause we'll need you so badly." She responded, before trotting out after Taka. Being back out in the fresh, enjoyable Pridelands air was a welcome change, and now the termite mound didn't seem so haunting. Hopefully, they wouldn't see Danganya for a long time.

"Well tell me where you want to go. I'm still waiting for an answer." Taka said quietly to Nala as he turned his head to look at her. He was at least hoping she wouldn't choose some place that reminded her of Simba. He felt a bit full of pride right now, know how strong he sounded just moments ago. For the first time in his life, he didn't feel useless.

"Oh, umm..." Nala honestly didn't know. Anywhere which gave her a strong memory of Simba would just break her heart, and she'd explode into tears again, she couldn't do that to Taka. The only problem was, she'd been everywhere with Simba. "How about we just be... Spontaneous? Come on." With a cheeky grin plastered on her face, the young lioness started to spring confidently west of Pride Rock.

Taka smiled slightly as he began to run after her quickly. He knew by nature, lionesses were faster but that wasn't going to discourage him. He looked at every obstacle they were passing, and noticing that there were less and less of them as they moved. Eventually, Taka noticed they had wondered quite far from the pridelands, and the dark clouds above were shutting out the sunlight. In front of Taka and Nala were an entire barren land, full of sand. It was like the outlands, except for the fact that there were no termite mounds. "Nala, you...want to go...in there?" Taka asked with hesitation. He was actually quite intimidated by the vast landscape.

Nala's eyes glinted, a cheeky grin plastered over her face.
"Come on, Taka. We're not cubs anymore, are we? Are we've been everywhere in the Pridelands. We're practically adults... but if you don't want to come, you don't have to. It's alright if you want to go home." She said this in the nicest way possible, not meaning to belittle her companion in any way. Without waiting for an answer, she excitedly trotted into the barren wasteland.
Simba would have definitely gone in with her, without a doubt.
