I smiled, then looked at him and said, "Thanks, Derek, for trying to cheer me up. But you see, the thing is..... I made some bad mistakes, ones that almost had me and my family killed."

"Are you talking about Morgana?" Derek asked. "Mel, don't forget I made the same mistake. And legend has it that your mother did, too. But she's still a great mother, and was able to raise an amazing daughter. We all make mistakes, but so long as we learn from them, we don't have to worry about them and they won't affect us in the future."

"I know, Derek, but I just..... I almost had my mom killed because of me!" I said, getting up and swimming to the center of the cave, wrapping my arms around myself. "I still don't forgive myself for what I had said to her, and for what I had made her feel when I ran away." I said, tears rolling down my cheeks.

I swam up after her and pulled her close, feeling her tears on my chest. "I know," I said. "And I haven't entirely forgiven myself for trusting Morgana either. But we have to let go of the past, learn from our mistakes, and keep moving forward. Staying in the past will only hurt everyone even more."

I wrapped my arms around Derek's waist, trying to get closer to him, and said against his chest, "You're right, Derek. I'm sorry," I cried a little more, feeling so sad.

"It's okay," I said, making small circle on her back as I tried calming her down. "Do you want to continue what we were doing before?" I tried, hoping she would feel better as soon as we started.

I nodded against his chest, then looked up at him a gave him a watery smile. "I'll get the guitar," I said, swimming where the guitar was and wiping the tears from my face as I picked it up. I took a couple of deep breaths, calming myself down.

I swam over to her and grabbed the quitar from her hands, kissing her on the cheek. I began strumming a few, light notes that would hopefully make her feel better, so long as she didn't start singing a sad song.

I took another deep breath, then I started to sing the song that is meant for him back when he didn't remember me,

I finished strumming the guitar at the end of the song and smiled at her. "That song fits perfectly with us," I said. "I can't wait to start this up back at Atlantica. And I'm sure Sebastian can't, either. The poor crab." I let out a light laugh at the memory of the last concert rehearsal, when he almost fainted aonce it was done.
