Appearance:
Mardea is a lithe lioness, and her body leans towards the thinner side. She has somewhat long limbs and a slightly longer-than-usual neck. Her fur is sleek and smooth, although she does have a tuft adorning her forehead and tufted cheeks. Her fur is an uncommon pale red-brown, and her underbelly, ear rims and lower eye hue are a light reddish-tan colour. Her upper eye is not nearly as dark as her base coat, but a bit darker than her underbelly. Her almond-shaped eyes bear a blue iris, and her sclera is a normal yellow. Mardea's "Pridelander-style" nose and inner ears are a dark pinkish.

Personality:
Mardea is a very witty and clever lioness, though when in a first meeting, she can be rather awkward. When she first meets someone, she often acts disorientated, although after getting to know them- which she seldom does- her affability towards them increases.

Although Mardea often speaks her opinion impulsively, she is an introvert at heart. Though she doesn't prohibit anyone from learning about her, she prefers to remain independent as opposed to relying on anybody else. She despises having to depend on anyone to care for her and almost always stubbornly refuses assistance, even if she is in dire need of help.

Despite all of that, Mardea is not harsh as she is sometimes thought to be. She can be a bit assertive and outspoken, yes, and she can be rather short at times, but she isn't as severe as she is perceived. She'll be friendly to anyone who is friendly to her, albeit a bit quiet and introverted. Often she puts herself down and doesn't believe in herself.

History:
Mardea was always shunned by others because she was the daughter of two traitors, and even though she had a peculiar russet pelt, it wasn't spoken much of and the pride mostly gossiped about her parentage, how she would turn out a traitor like her mother and father. Much too often, she would be determined to prove she wouldn't be like her parents.

Raised by a friendly and loving lioness called Karama, the only one she ever felt a true bond with was her foster mother- her biological parents had left her behind as they knew they couldn't bring a newborn into exile with them. She was often teased and mocked by the two other cubs in the pride, Hazina and Bietjie, and ignored by most of the adults.
