The Lion Guard (2015 / 2016)
maybe this spot was there permenently and just looked like a lion which makes Kion special, just my theory guess so far
I'm inclined to think that there is something special about Kion's Tattoo/Birthmark as well. In fact I think it is likely to be a major plot point.

I still think the design would have been great without the tattoo. I will accept that rafiki drew it on him or something but no magic please, i know that there are elements of mysticism in the lion king but not straight up harry potter style of magic.

I know I suggested earlier that Kion's Tattoo/Birthmark might be somewhat magical, but I fully admit that theory of mine is hardly solid. I was thinking that the mark might give him physical abilities more on the lines of an adult Lion rather than a cub, but that idea is much too out there for a preschool series. I should have taken that into consideration before I shared my admittedly weak theory, if there is anything special about Kion's Tattoo/Birthmark I'm sure it won't grant him any actual superpowers or spell casting abilities.

Do you think Disney is aware of the global online TLK fanatic conversations over this from other forums and here? do you think they are listening to us? I hope they are :shattered:

It would make sense for Disney to gauge fan reaction as soon as possible, but they could just be concentrating one their focus groups. However this is just speculation on my part because I have no Idea how the entertainment industry works. One thing that I think we can safely assume is that if anyone from Disney is lurking on these forums, we will never know of it. As for Disney actually listening to what we have to say, I think that is rather doubtful being that none of us are in the target demographic.
