Scar watched the sun rise over the now dark horizon as he awoke on the edge of pride rock. His emerald eyes gleamed deviously as he watched the light began to cast over all the creatures of the pride lands. Scar looked down below pride rock, and noticed that the lionesses were moping around again. He snorted and looked back up at his kingdom. Mufasa was dead and that annoying furball was gone, but these lionesses still mourned them after the time had passed? It made Scar's heart race in anger.
Scar's train of thought was interrupted by Shenzi, Bonzai and Ed fighting behind him. The tanned lion sighed as he turned his head to the three fools. "Would you three be quiet? It is too early in the morning for your oh so intelligent debates." Scar murmured. Shenzi, Bonzai and Ed quieted down and looked to Scar for a moment.
"I need you three to go scout the land a bit. I fear that some of our land has been deserted and need to know how much animals are still here. Go do a head count of the animal herds." Scar ordered. Ed cackled maniacally and Scar growled.
"I said head count, not eat. Understand?" Scar growled grumpily.
"Sure boss! Can we have one small snack though? I mean counting is hard work! We'll build up an appetite!" Shenzi said with a nervous chuckle. Scar rolled his eyes.
"Very well." Scar murmured and on that note the three hyenas scampered off to do their job.
Meanwhile Taka was below with the lionesses and frowning at all the glares he was recieving. He was careful of who he went near as many of them were angry and Scar, meaning they would also be hostile towards him. Taka's tanned fur is what made him look most like his father, next was his amber eyes that were shaped the same and finally the black tuft of mane that was growing on his head. Taka noticed that Nala was seperated from the lionesses, and was looking sadly over the horizon. Taka quickly made his way towards her, ignoring every other lioness he passed now.
Taka sat down next to where she was laying and looked over to her with a look of sympathy. Why was she so attached to Simba? What made her mourn him every morning like this? "You alright?" Taka finally managed to ask after a small amount of time had passed.
