Mnyama nodded agreement. "Yeah, it is," she replied, panting slightly. "I mean, it's been hot before, but not usually this hot..."

(It was a "your type of guy" sort of usage for the cup of tea expression.)

Marini couldn't agree more with Mnyama. She'd doubted that her two fellow lionesses had failed to notice how hot it was. "Wanna go find some shade?" She also doubted they'd have a problem with escaping the sun, but she asked anyway.

(BTW, when should the fire start?)

[Ahh. xD
Soon... maybe after they get under some shade and start relaxing, they notice a fire starting and hurry to warn the pride?]

Mnyama nodded fervently. "Sounds like a plan," she replied, looking at Yegath. The second lioness gave a short bob of her head, which of course was a yes. "We're not too far from the waterhole, I don't think," Mnyama said. She flicked her tail and started to trod in the general direction of the waterhole, which probably everyone in their pride knew was one of the places with the most shade.

(Should Muroki still be there or should he show up after the fire?)

Marini smiled as she began to trot in the direction of the waterhole with her two friends. Whatever they were going to do there and whoever from their pride they were bound to come across, it sure would be nice for it all to happen in the shade, especially with water at their disposal. Besides, while she was very fond of the company of her friends and her brother, she didn't have a problem with any of their other pride mates.

[I don't know. Maybe after the fire, if that's okay?]

After they reached the waterhole, Mnyama stretched and relaxed under one of the trees, out of the way of the blazing sun. "We're lucky," she said to Marini. "I know some prides who... live in dry places where there's hardly any prey. This pride is lucky to have what we do have- plentiful prey and such."

Looking around, Marini couldn't spot her brother anywhere. Muroki mist have gotten his drink and left already. "Yeah, tell me about it..." she said, joining Mnyama under the tree. "Let's not even mention the water..." The drier / hotter the place, the less water. The amount of prey was obviously richer when water wasn't scarce.

"Yeah," Mnyama said. "I don't remember a time in our lives when there have been severe water shortages... Like I said, I know prides who have awful droughts... it's terrible." She had been told that their pride was lucky for what they did had- and how other prides suffered from long, deadly droughts and scarce prey.

Marini slowly nodded her head. "Yeah, that does sound awful..." A lioness who's lived a life like the one she has could only try to imagine what that was like. But she didn't even want to even think about something so dreadful.

(Feel free to start the fire when you wanna.)

Mnyama nodded, and was prepared to change the subject to something much less depressing when she narrowed her eyes- she saw grey puffs of smoke a few hundred yards from where they were. "Is that... fire?"

Marini, at first, because she was looking in another direction, found what Mnyama was saying to be very odd. It was only when she saw the smoke with her own eyes that she believed her. It was an extremely hot day, not to mention that the grass and everything else was as dry as could be. A fire would be disastrous. The young lioness was so shocked that she didn't even say anything or move.
