The new danger in the land

Nuru stopped at a little creek. His closed eyes dripping with tears

Vitani: Sure honey! What is it?

Mufasa eventually found his brother. "Nuru?" he asked, slowly approaching his brother. "What's wrong?" Why was he crying?

Siari seemed to hesitate as she lay down closely to the older lioness. "Um, listen, please don't tell dad about this..." She didn't want her father to overreact if he found out. "You know how I'm in heat and all of that, right?"

[Adofo]

Nuru: .......You and Nuru......you broke your promise......you said you would love me the most in the world forever.......and you clearly love him more! ....You said WE'D be best friends forever!

Vitani: ....Yes....what happened, baby?

Mufasa looked a little surprised. "We are! Zuni and I, we... we're not really friends anymore, we're more than that..." He rubbed the back of his head with a paw as his face became a little red. "We're going to be mates one day..."

Siari sighed. "Nothing..." Yet. "It's just that Nuru's having a really hard time ignoring the temptation and, well, so am I... He almost didn't even notice he was about to get carried away earlier, even when I told him... That was scary, and I don't want us to just avoid each other whenever I'm like this..."

[Adofo]

Nuru: .....But you promised I would always be your favorite brother......your best brother in the world......you broke your promise........he's your favorite brother now...

Vitani: You almo-.......oh my gosh......uhh.....okay....Siari......it's perfectly natural to go through what you are going through. It's happened to a lot of lions and lionesses. So.....here is what you two should do. Whenever you are in heat and you two are together, ALWAYS try to have someone else there or be in public. If someone is always around, that removes a lot of the temptation! You can still kiss and everything, but when there is someone around with you two, it drastically reduces the chance of things going....further.

"That has nothing to do with that, Nuru." said Mufasa. "You and Siari were friends too before all of this."

Siari blinked a few times. "So... We shouldn't be alone at all?"

Nuru: You don't get it! .....I was your favorite brother.....I was the brother you loved most in the world.....now that you and Zuni are a couple.....it's clear you love him more than me. ......Even as much as I love Siari....it didn't come close to my love for you...

Mufasa sighed. "I never said that I love either one of you more." he said.

Siari rested her head down on her mother's paws. "But that's the thing about it... I wish there was a way we wouldn't need to act any differently whenever I'm in heat..."

Nuru: You said back when mom was pregnant, no matter how many, that you would love me more than all of our siblings put together!

Vitani: Well.....I don't know baby.....unless.....unless you two.....went ahead and got married. That's the only other way I can see getting around this.

"So what do you want me to do?" asked Mufasa. "Since you're absolutely convinced that I prefer either you or Zuni over the other?"

"But we're too young to get married and do... that..." said Siari, feeling a little embarrassed.
