Love at First Sight: Melody & Derek (kitkat39 & NKL!)

"I'm 15, going on 16, but I just can't wait to finally be able to live in my own place!" I said as I looked up at the surface, thinking about what my own home would be like.

[Queen Elsa]

"Okay. I just recently turned 16," I said. "Are you going to move away from the ocean?"

I looked back to him and said, "No, I'm going to go someplace that is by the ocean. There's just something about it that I....I just can't explain it. The ocean makes me feel alive, and I want it to be the same for when I have my own children."

[Queen Elsa]

"Yeah, it is nice," I agreed. "Do you have a special someone in mind?"

I looked at Derek, then looked away, wrapping my arms around my waste and said, "Yeah, but I don't know if he feels the same way that I do. At least....If he actually did felt something for me."

[Queen Elsa]

"Oh. That's rough," I said. "Hopefully he'll come around, though."

"Yeah, I hope so...." I said as I looked at him, thinking, 'You are the one I love Derek,' and then I looked away again then started to hum the tune I hummed last night.

[Queen Elsa]

I stiffened at the tune she was humming. It sounded exactly like what I heard in my dreamms last night. I had thought it was Morgan singing, but was it really her? "Were you singing that lat night?" I asked, hoping I didn't sound crazy.

I stopped humming, looked at Derek, and said, "Yeah, I was singing that because....well, I was sad, I guess. And I thought that if I hummed the song by the moonlight on the beach, maybe it might make me feel better." I felt tears building in my eyes, but I let them come.

I stared at her for a few moments. A memory was trying to surface in my mind, but it was coming through clearly. "I used to hear that song whenever someone wanted to cheer me up, too," I said. I noticed the tears streaming down her cheeks, and I rubbed my thumb against her cheek, wiping away the tears. Something inside me told me to kiss her, but I couldn't find the courage to do so. I would be marrying Morgan in only a couple of days. I couldn't betray her like that.
