Kovu opened his eyes slowly with a yawn as he felt the nudge. He listened tiredly to Vitani's whispered orders and nodded slowly. He gave himself a quick stretch and looked to Kiara who was sleeping peacefully. He smiled slightly as he gave her a quick nuzzle, before looking to Vitani. Kovu walked outside the den alongside his sister without much of a word and sat down, waiting for her to do the same. Kovu looked at the sun rising over the horizon. He then heard that she wished to walk instead. Kovu got up quickly and began to walk alongside Vitani, down pride rock.

"What's on your mind Tani? It's not often that you come to me for advice." Kovu pointed out with a yawn.

//

Shwari purred quietly in his sleep at the affectionate touch of Zina. He could not begin to explain how much fun he had the last night. They talked about everything that came to their minds. A focus point was rogue life though, how it was to just wander the deserts expecting to find food and water every now and again. They talked about all the struggles and hardships they faced. Shwari was the one that changed the subject to something more cheerful as he pointed out humorous pictures the stars had created above.

It didn't take Shwari long to wake up after Zina because the morning sun beamed down on his face directly. Shwari groaned as he turned a couple times, but opened his eyes figuring it was no use. He yawned loudly, exposing his terrifc set of incisors and looked to Zina with a small smile. "Had a good sleep?" Shwari asked as he marveled at her beauty in the morning sun.

//

"Eh, get out of my face you filthy child."
Kiburi growled as she pushed Xepher away. She stretched, and gripped the ground with her claws. She shook her head and flicked her ears before glaring over at Xepher. Kiburi had not seen Tume the previous night and was wondering where his child was. Kiburi figured at least Xepher would know. "Where is Tume, I did not see him at his den last night." Kiburi murmured as she licked her paws.

Waiting for her brother to shake off sleeps grip, as it was obvious that he hadn’t fully awakened yet, Vitani made her way down into The Grasslands, keeping her pace slow enough to give Kovu time to catch up to her before she addressed what he had said previously, a hint of humor apparent within her tone as she did so.

”Yes, I must be really desperate for advice, or this is really huge news Kovu if I’m coming to you, right?” Vitani said, flashing her brother an amused grin before she resumed speaking. ”Well, I had a rather strange dream last night, although it didn’t really feel like a dream, but more like an out of body experience. It had to do with Ayari, of course, and our past together.”

Pausing for a moment to gauge Kovu’s reaction to what she had stated thus far, Vitani quickly spoke up once more before her brother could add in anything to the conversation, as she could tell that whatever was going to leave his muzzle, wasn’t something she wanted to hear at the given moment.

”I’m being serious here though Kovu. Do you remember what I was like the day after Ayari left? I know we both were a lot younger then and I know you were too busy with fulfilling Mother’s wishes, but do you recall just how miserable I was after Ayari was gone? We were just friends then and him up and leaving had that big of an impact on me. And before you say anything, it’s not just because of Kopa either. Things were different. I knew Ayari was still alive, so it’s not the same.”

Sighing hopelessly, Vitani paused in the middle of the grass where she and her brother were, looking at him with a dead serious expression as she spoke quietly.

”What I’m trying to say here is, I’m scared that I’m going to lose him again Kovu, and it’s even more different this time around, because, well, because, I love him.”

==========

Momentarily distracted by Vitani and Kovu’s sudden appearance, Zina’s attention averted back to Schwari as her ears picked up his low voice, causing a small smile to work its way upon her muzzle as she replied in a gentle tone.

”For once in my life Schwari, I can say, yes, I most certainly did.”

Feeling Schwari’s eyes upon her, Zina couldn’t hold back a subtle blush as she felt her cheeks growing warmer by the second. Nervously pawing at the rock surface below her, the white furred Shaman tried to draw the grey furred male’s focus away from her as she spoke to him once again in a casual fashion.

”So, how about you and me go and get us some breakfast, hmm? Maybe I can try and put that stalking lesson of yours from yesterday, to some good use.”

==========

Taking his aunt’s reaction to his advance in stride, Xepher snickered at Kiburi as he watched her stretch, his eyes drifting towards her raised hindquarters as she did so. Hearing her question, which brought a humorous grin to etch itself upon Xepher’s muzzle, the nonchalant male responded in a sarcastic voice.

”Not very motherly like of you to lose track of your own son there Aunty Kiburi. You must have been too distracted with looking at me last night, it’s okay, I understand. I know how much you want me. As for your son and my friend, well, you know how Tume gets right before a plan is enacted, even if it is a ridiculous one. He’s probably just out for a walk to clear his mind. With all the pressure you and Maju force upon him, I don’t blame him. I’d do the same.”

Settling himself down for a quick scratch, running his hind paws through his tangled fur, Xepher thought about what had happened the previous day in regards to Guza and better yet, what exactly he himself, was going to do about it to make sure that the insane pyro maniac wouldn’t hinder his friend’s and Kiburi’s plans. Taking a quick look around, just to make sure that his words would only be heard by Kiburi herself, Xepher spoke in a low voice.

”Guza knows, about your plan Aunty Kiburi. If you ask me, he needs to be dealt with and fast. You know the old saying though. Those who play with fire, are bound to get burned.”

Flashing his aunt a sly wink, Xepher hopped to his paws and moved in a bit closer to where Kiburi was seated as she groomed herself. Keeping his voice low still, the crafty male spoke up once again as his muzzle came very close to his aunts once more.

”What do you say to me ridding ourselves of that Fire Freak once and for all? Would you like that Aunty Kiburi? Accidents can happen during Fire Decoys you know. Tragic accidents…”

Kovu walked alongside Vitani, taking in every word she was saying. Recently Vitani had been spending alot more time with Ayari, and Kovu was curious as to what they were doing exactly. The blades of grass were wet with dew, making each paw step cold and wet. Kovu couldn't help but let his mind wander until Vitani talked about the time Ayari left. Kovu remembered the night far too well. Nuka didn't seem disappointed, but Zira showed a hint of joy at Ayari's betrayal. It was expected though since Zira knew Ayari was a rogue no matter how long he stays with a pride.

"Vitani, I remember. Nuka told me that you weren't that upset since...since Kopa. Heck, even Mara was disappointed. She still refuses to tell us what she told Ayari before he left." Kovu murmured quietly. Mara had grown old, and had moved to the pridelands when the time came. She didn't want to fight anymore because Masa wouldn't have wanted it to end that way. Pointless bloodshed, loss and massacre. Kovu stopped and continued to listen to his sister intently, knowing this was a touchy subject to her. Not many things were really touchy with Vitani.

He smiled slightly, and sighed. "I can't tell you if Ayari will stay, or leave Vitani. I don't know if he will die or live when the time comes to fight the horde. All I can tell you for sure is that Ayari loves you, and you love him. Mother saw this, and that's why she was going to kill him in the first place. Yeah, maybe you wouldn't have called it love back then but...there was something." Kovu pointed out. He looked down at the grass.

"You know I'm just as afraid of losing Kiara right? She isn't a rogue or anything but things happen. Illness, rogue attacks and even cub birth could be the end of her." Kovu murmured quietly. "Though I like to think she loves me enough to fight off the illness, the rogues, and to get that cub out whole and healthy without any problems." Kovu pointed out. He smiled as he looked up at Vitani.

"When all this is over, you two will be happy mates I'm sure." Kovu said as he turned and began to walk back to pride rock. "By the way! This is something you should've talked to your mate about, not me!" Kovu teased as he stuck his tongue out at Vitani.

//

Shwari smiled as he watched her nervously pat away at the rock floor. It was quite adorable to watch because only cubs would do something like that when they are really embarrassed. He stood up quickly when she brought up the idea of food and he grinned. He waited until she was looking away before touching his nose to hers. "Next part of your training, is pursuit." Shwari said with a chuckle as he planted a kiss on her muzzle, and bounding off down pride rock with a laugh.

"Great kings above...could it be? Could Zina actually be attracted to a male?" Siri said with a chuckle as she watched from the den. Husudu was laying across Siri and snorted.

"Don't be surprised. It's all stupid hormones. That's all love is." Husudu said bitterly as he closed his eyes, trying to force himself back to sleep.

//

Kiburi sighed as she rubbed her temples and listened to her irritating nephew. He had no idea where Tume was, so he should've just said so with the start. The last thing Kiburi needed was a migraine at this time of day. "Oh boy, I've got better things to look at then you." Kiburi said with a snort. Kiburi then sat up properly and thought about Xepher had just said about Tume being on a walk. "What could he possibly want to clear his mind about? His heart and mind is his own. I am not forcing him to kill Maju..." Kiburi pointed out. She shrugged it off though, as Xepher made it obvious that Tume would come back.

Kiburi smiled as Xepher mentioned the pyromaniac, and scratched her nephew's chin. "You do realize he's only an asset? Why kill him when we can put him to use? He hates Maju just as much as we do. Once he helps us over throw that foolish deluded king, we'll end his life. Don't you worry too much about." Kiburi growled as she gave Xepher one long deep scratch leaving him a wound on his chin.

"Go find Tume. Tell him he can take walks AFTER he performs his duties."
Kiburi growled.

Vitani sighed dejectedly as she figured as much. Kovu didn’t quite understand what she was going through, although he had made some very valid and clear points with his example about Kiara. Still, Vitani viewed her situation as being different from that of her brothers. Watching as Kovu turned to make his way back to Pride Rock, Vitani called after him as she bounded over to where he was.

”Wait Kovu! You’re missing the point here. Don’t you see? All this mess started when Ayari showed up. It’s obvious that Maju wants his revenge, but it’s only upon Ayari. It has nothing to do with me or you or Kiara or any of our Pride for that matter. Ayari knows this, and I do too. I feel like our pride is being put in jeopardy when there’s an easy solution to this problem.”

Giving her brother a moment to process what she had told him, Vitani resumed speaking as her gaze drifted up to the sky above. What she was about to say next, she herself knew, wasn’t the right solution for the problem at paw but it seemed like the quickest and easiest way out of such a sticky situation.

”If Ayari leaves, then Maju and company will leave too, don’t you think? They don’t want our lands. They don’t want any of us. All they want is Ayari. Take Ayari out of the picture and you, Kiara and everyone else is safe from Maju’s reign, right?”

Shifting her focus from the sky above, now down to the moist grass below, Vitani’s voice lowered slightly as she continued, a hint of sadness present in her tone as she stated.

”And if Ayari leaves, I’d go with him. I can’t leave him Kovu. Never again will I let distance be a factor between his and my relationship. I care about him too much Kovu and this is why I can’t stand to let him fight Maju. If there’s a chance that he could die in the process, then why should I? I know, running away is taking the cowards way out but if that means both Ayari and more importantly, you and Kiara and the rest of the pride are safe, than shouldn’t it be that way?”

==========

Completely caught off guard by Schwari’s loving gesture, Zina merely stood there, her muzzle slightly ajar as she watched Schwari bounding down into The Grasslands. With her head swelling with thoughts and her heart racing wildly, the white furred lioness was about to give chase, when Siri’s voice reached her, almost dragging her out of her euphoric like trance as she sighed softly and flashed her friend a smile before speaking indirectly towards both Siri and Husudu, who seemed to be quite comfortable draped over Siri’s body.

”Yes, who would have guessed, aye Siri? We’re taking things slow though, so don’t expect me to be popping out cubs anytime soon.”

Narrowing her eyes towards Husudu, Zina couldn’t help but to toss in a smug remark as she sneered at him.

”Jealousy is a natural feeling Husudu. Maybe there’s even someone special out there for you too, although if I were them, I’d seriously take a one way trip into a stampede of wildebeest, as it’d be a lot less painful than putting up with the likes of you.”

Turning her attention back towards Schwari, who seemed to be waiting for her near the base of pride Rock, Zina shook her head in a disparaging fashion at Husudu before she trotted off, calling over her shoulder to Siri as she left.

”I’d go wash yourself up in The Waterhole Siri after having that THING laying on you, who knows where ITS been.”

Leaving the two felines to their own device, Zina joined Schwari in The Grasslands as she pasted another friendly smile upon her muzzle before she took lead, her tail swishing to and fro behind her, a clear sign that she felt absolutely at ease within Schwari’s presence now. Waiting till they were a fair distance away from pride Rock, Zina turned to her grey furred companion as she asked in an intrigued voice.

”Your brother and Siri seemed awfully close this morning. For someone who says that love is so horrible, he doesn’t have a problem getting close to a lioness whose heart isn’t completely mended yet. I swear Schwari, if he’s taking advantage of her in her current state, that’s just low of him.”

==========

Snarling from his aunts claw piercing his pelt around his chin, but not in a painful manner, more so, in a twisted act of enjoyment, Xepher extended his rough tongue as he licked over his newly received wound, tasting his own blood, which brought a dark smirk to his muzzle. Nodding obediently, Xepher responded in a coy tone.

”Mmm, of course Aunty Kiburi. As you wish.”

Turning to take his leave, Xepher could feel his own dark desires getting the better of him as he quickly turned and pounced upon his aunt, pinning her down under the combined weight of his body. Jeering down at her with a callus grin, Xepher ran his tongue over Kiburi’s muzzle lips before hopping off of her and darting out of The Elephant Graveyard, on route to find Tume.

Knowing full well where his old friend would be, Xepher casually made his way towards one of the more secluded areas within the boarder between The Pride Lands and The Elephant Graveyard. Arriving at the densely foggy local, Xepher cleared his mind of what had just happened between himself and his aunt before he called out into the thick fog.

”It’s show time Tume. Aunty Kiburi requests that we get things moving.”

Kovu waited one moment, and heard what Vitani had to say. His ears flexed downwards as she said what she said. "Even if Ayari leaves, and diverts his attention...They'll be back Tani. There's a reason he is their enemy. He is the nicest rogue I've ever met. That Maju character is the exact opposite. He's the concentration of the evil that rogues give off. If Ayari dies, or leaves, they'll be targeting us eventually for our food or our land." Kovu explained as a soft breeze blew by. He thought for a moment as he looked at the clouds above, believing Simba was up there trying to communicate with him.

"Perhaps we should wait and see. You can't avoid destiny Tani. Remember. Love will find a way." Kovu said with a smile as he walked back towards pride rock once more.

Ayari meanwhile woke up from a pleasant dream he was having. It was of the future after Maju's defeat, him and Vitani had a cub. It was the most adorable little thing to have ever popped out of a lioness. It's eyes were huge, and it was really feisty. It pulled on Ayari's whiskers and everything. Sadly, that was only a dream so far and he had to get back to the real world. He had to defeat Maju, and the great kings knew what his motivation was.

Ayari yawned, and stretched before he began to walk out of the little den and looked around sleepily. "Vi-Vitani?" Ayari asked as he looked around. He spotted her talking with Kovu and sighed in content as he made his way up pride rock. He didn't want to interrupt her.

Siri had fallen asleep, and Husudu was sitting by the den looking absently into the sky. "Husudu. You alright?" Ayari asked as he entered the den.

"Mmm. I haven't torn flesh for a long time, and I miss the taste of my enemy's blood but nothing much besides those." Husudu murmured. Ayari looked from him to Siri who had a small smile on her face in her sleep.

"Di-Did you and Siri get closer or something? Some of your scent is on her." Ayari muttered.

"She was crying this morning regarding Kivuli's death, and I was simply comforting her. She liked to think I was Kivuli for a moment. Peh, see what love does? It makes you go mad with grief. In the end one of the lovers is going to die first, and the other has to live with the grief. I wouldn't care though, I'd just go find another mate." Husudu muttered.

"That's not love then Husudu, that's just mating. Everyone does that eventually."
Ayari said quietly. "I just didn't because I knew my heart belonged to Vitani even if I wasn't around her." Ayari said with a content sigh.

//

Shwari shook his head. "Husudu isn't like that. He doesn't get himself attached to any lioness. He'll never get to feel the joy of having someone to care about though." Shwari said with a smile at Zina as he walked alongside her now. "Besides, there's probably an explanation as to why he was doing what he was doing." Shwari suggested. They walked for a bit in the grass lands, and saw a herd of Zebra. Shwari's eyes narrowed, as he quickly got onto his belly. He expected Zina to do the same.

"Look in front of you, and make sure you don't step on any twigs." Shwari instructed giving her paw a kiss for luck. He then continued on his belly, waiting for her to come alongside him.

//

His amber eyes glowed in the fog, and that was the first visible thing in this fog. Tume made his way towards Xepher, eyes narrowed. "Moth-Mother can wait. I have done a terrible deed..." Tume murmured quietly looking down. "Xepher, I accidentally killed a mother lioness, and left her new born cub all alone. Sh-She attacked me in defense of her cub I'm guessing and I killed her. Had I known it was for the cub." Tume's voice shook. Now he feels completely like his father, separating families and destroying cubhoods with murder and cruelty.

Tume quickly turned and began to walk back towards the spot where the cub was. He expected Xepher to follow. Tume stopped at a dead lioness and a whining little cub with it's eyes shut. This newborn cub was a girl, with a strange beige pelt. Tume sighed. "See what I have done? I-I must fix this. We are taking the cub to the pridelands..." Tume said quietly taking the cub into his mouth, and beginning to sprint towards the pride lands. If he gave it a good home, perhaps it wouldn't grow up in hardship.

[OOC: The cub is going to be adopted by Husudu xD . Believe it or not]

[ooo, should make for an awesome plot twist there Kivuli. Lol]

Not bothering to follow her brother this time around as she figured that there was no point in pressing the matter any further, Vitani simply stayed put, melding over her own thoughts for a moment. Perhaps Siri was right. Maybe if she hadn’t grown so attached to Ayari, she wouldn’t be feeling utterly confused and scared at this point. Maybe if she had just kept things the way they had been, with her being a friend to Ayari and nothing more, then maybe things might have been better. Shaking her head to try and clear her thoughts, Vitani growled defiantly at her own thoughts as she mumbled to herself.

”No! I did the right thing. We don’t choose who we fall in love with. It couldn’t be helped.”

Glancing up towards the early morning sky one last time, Vitani took another deep breath before pressing onwards back towards Pride Rock. Upon arriving, her eyes caught sight of Ayari, who seemed to be conversing with Siri and Husudu. Doing everything in her powers to rid herself of her previous thoughts, as she knew that Ayari would easily pick up upon her distress if she even gave off the slightest hint of her worry, Vitani silently made her way behind her old friend before gently caressing the entire length of her muscular frame around Ayari’s body, ending directly under his chin where she licked him softly before speaking in an affectionate voice.

”Good morning Ayari. Hope you slept well. Hope I’m not interrupting anything important here.” Vitani stated as she sported a warm smile before taking up a comfortable spot next to her friend.

==========

Figuring that Schwari was right, as he knew Husudu better than anyone and besides, worrying about Siri and Husudu was the last thing she wanted to do after enjoying such a memorable night, Zina shrugged off her former mind frame as she focused upon getting some much needed breakfast. Following Schwari’s gaze, Zina’s yellow orbs locked upon the herd of zebra that her companion had already sighted. Listening intently to the grey furred male’s guidance and feeling the soft kiss upon her fore paw which caused her to blush once more, Zina gathered herself before she mimicked Schwari’s stance, pressing her body as low to the ground as was possible, making a disgusted face as her warm body came in contact with the wet grass below, yet she made no sound, merely dealing with the slight discomfort as she stalked alongside him, trying her best not to make any noise.

Her efforts seemed to be paying off, as the pair slowly advanced upon the unsuspecting herd. Perhaps it was the early morning dew that masked their approach or maybe it just was the former training that she had received from Schwari the previous day, but whatever the case may have been, everything seemed to work out beautifully as the two smitten felines closed the gap between themselves and their potential breakfast. Seemingly upon instinct, Zina’s body reacted immediately once they were close enough to strike, her body tensing up, ready to charge. Like a bolt of white lightning, she was off, her eyes glued upon one of the younger looking members of the herd. Time seemed to stand still as every long stride she took brought her closer and closer to her prey. In one graceful movement, it was over as both herself and the young zebra went toppling over, ending with Zina on top, her vice like jaws gripping firmly around the struggling creatures neck as she held fast, knowing that Schwari would assist momentarily to seal the deal.

==========

Looking a bit perplexed by what Tume was saying, as killing any creature, let alone a lioness, was never anything to get worked up about, especially for Tume, Xepher’s ears flicked as he heard his friend make mention of the cub. Narrowing his eyes slightly at his friend’s suggestion, yet not wishing to argue with his plan, as he knew full well that once Tume set his mind to something, there was no talking him out of it, Xepher simply followed suit as he ran alongside his friend, who had already retrieved the frightened cub and was carrying it with the most tender of care. Taking a moment to examine the cub while it was held within Tume’s muzzle, Xepher could tell that it was a lioness and quite an adorable one at that. As the pair traveled along, Xepher spoke his mind aloud, knowing that Tume couldn’t exactly respond with a mouth full of cub.

”I sure hope you know what you’re doing here Tume. Seriously, if Aunty Kiburi found out about this, she’d have her tail in knots. I can hear her now.” Xepher stated, adopting a sarcastic tone as he tried his best to impersonate Kiburi. ”What the hell has gotten into you Tume. We show no mercy, love is stupid, blah blah BLAH.”

Keeping a watchful eye out for any Pridelanders, Xepher waited until the trio had found a spot to stop at, before he inquired to his friend in a curious fashion, keeping his voice low now that they were in enemy territory.

”So what exactly is your brilliant plan here Tume? We can’t exactly go traipsing up to those mindless fools and drop a cub at their paws and expect them to just accept it into their pride with open arms now can we?”

Husudu rolled his eyes as Vitani made her way into the conversation. Husudu sighed as he covered his eyes with his massive paw, waiting for the affectionate gestures to be over already. Ayari smiled as he nuzzled Vitani, and licked her cheek tenderly. "You aren't interrupting anything. Just trying to explain love to Husudu again." Ayari stated boldly. He then looked to Vitani's eyes and already he could feel as if something was out of place. He wasn't about to question her in front of his friends, but he took a mental note to ask Vitani later what was the problem.

"Oh, come on Husudu. Grow up." Siri said hitting him with her paw. "They are just in love. Just because you don't have anyone to do that with doesn't mean they shouldn't do it in front of you." Siri said rolling her eyes. Siri got silent for a second and rolled onto her side to get comfortable. She rubbed her belly, and looked down to the ground sadly.

"I can feel it you know. It's growing." Siri said with a sad smile. Ayari sighed and looked to the horizon bitterly.

"I bet Kivuli will be proud of both you and the cub Siri. He's watching over us right now, and believe me that cub will grow up with a good mother." Ayari said comfortingly. Siri nodded, and chuckled slightly.

"I-I'm not over Kivuli, but the pain has eased. I just think about what our cub will look like, what I will name it, what it'll grow up to be. It brings some joy into my heart." Siri explained. Husudu snorted.

"Cubs are anything but a freaking joy. They whine, they fool around, and they get themselves into pointless trouble." Husudu muttered quietly.

As if on cue Tume appeared below pride rock. The cub was put down and it attempted to stand up on its own. It failed falling to its side. Tume didn't say a word to Xepher as they waited to be noticed. Tume would've let out a roar to inform the pride landers of his presence, if Tume wasn't afraid of scaring the cub. "Xepher. I already told you, I'm not evil. I killed that lioness in self defense and I orphaned a cub. I am no better then my father. I've got to make this right, even if it kills me." Tume murmured.

Ayari was listening to Husudu rant on and on about how cubs were annoying, until something caught the corner of his eye under pride rock. He quickly ran to the edge and his eyes narrowed at the sight of Tume. He looked an awful lot like Maju, but younger and less terrifying. "Husudu..." Ayari whispered harshly. "Get over here. Two horde lions, right below us. They have a newborn cub at their paws. We got to kill them, or get the cub away." Ayari muttered.

Husudu raised his eyebrow and looked over pride rock as well. Tume looked up and noticed both Ayari and Husudu.

"Pridelanders! I don't want any trouble. This cub was orphaned out in the elephant graveyard, and figured she deserved a home! Have fun." Tume shouted up at pride rock. He then turned on the cub and walked away with Xepher.

"You won't tell mother about this." Tume ordered as he broke into a run back home.

//

Shwari was surprised at how fast and elegantly the beautiful lioness had bounded after the zebra herd. He noticed that she ended up on the bottom when she tried to take a Zebra down. He ran up next to her to assist with the kill. He snarled as he took the zebra off Zina, and ended it's life rather quickly with a snap of it's neck. Shwari panted, and smiled towards Zina. He quickly walked around the Zebra, making sure his gaze didn't break with hers. "That was great Zina! I told you, you could learn! I've never seen a lioness so fast, or beautiful." Shwari said with a chuckle. He examined their catch in more detail now. The zebra was young so the meat was going to taste really tender, and good.

Staying quiet as the trio reached the base of Pride Rock, Xepher let Tume do all the talking, as he himself had nothing to say regardless, seeing as he still couldn’t quite understand why his friend was doing this. Nonetheless, Xepher respected Tume’s wishes and made no argumentative comments towards him as the pair left the little lioness in the care of The Pride Landers. Hearing Tume’s order, Xepher nodded as he replied in a serious voice.

”As you wish Tume. I hope this clears your conscience though, cause we still have a job to do today and if you’re not completely focused on it, we’ll never hear the last of it from Aunty Kiburi.”

Pondering over what had just happened, Xepher stayed quiet as he and Tume made their way back towards The Elephant Graveyard, all the while, the image of Tume holding the young cub in his muzzle seemed to be the only thing Xepher could picture, causing the confused male to speak up once more as he addressed his friend in a baffled tone.

”You know, just when I think I know you Tume, you go and do something to completely change my view upon you. Not saying that what you did was wrong, cause after seeing you with that cub, it makes me think twice about what we’re doing here but seriously, are you sure you can even go through with the plan? You might have saved that cub by giving her to those push overs, but keep in mind that those very same push overs are the ones we’re going to be fighting.”

=========

Watching the events unfolding in front of her, things seemed to happen in a flash, as one minute there were three new faces at the base of pride Rock, and just as quickly as they had appeared, two of them took their leave. Noting the expression that was clearly written upon Ayari’s face at the sight of one of the large males that had been accompanying the lone cub, who was now abandoned at the base of the majestic structure, Vitani could tell that Ayari was bothered by the sudden presence of the two strangers. Knowing that now wasn’t the time to bring up such matters however, Vitani made a note to speak with Ayari about this later, turning her attention to the youngster who was now in their care, or so it would seem. Hesitating for a second, Vitani slowly approached the cub as she stated openly.

”Okay, what just happened here? Did Maju’s horde just leave us a cub? Please tell me that I’m not going crazy here.”

Upon reaching the young cub, Vitani carefully outstretched a fore paw and lightly ran it across the little cub’s frame, checking to make sure that it wasn’t injured in any way, shape or form. Observing as the little bundle of fur rolled onto it’s back, Vitani noted its gender as she looked up to Ayari and asked curiously.

”She seems healthy enough but I just don’t understand this. What underlying intentions does Maju have for giving us this cub?”

Panting heavily, yet looking rather radiant from her accomplishment, Zina felt her head swelling with pride from Schwari’s flattering words, causing the white furred Shaman to blush yet again as she caught her breath and replied in a modest voice.

”Aww, what can I say Schwari, I had one hell of a teacher.”

Flashing Schwari a loving smile, Zina could feel her spirits picking up with every passing second as she made her way over to where Schwari had finished off the slain zebra, taking up a cozy spot next to him as she picked out a prime location to start feasting upon their kill. Having not eaten much the previous day, Zina’s voracious appetite showed as she wasted no time in gorging herself upon the tender meat of the young zebra, being as careful as possible not to spill any blood upon her precious herb pouch as she ate.

Tume growled as he closed his eyes. "Yeah. I know what's going to happen Xepher..." Tume said as he stopped, and panted. "I did what I did because...at least that cub will have a better life until what's going to happen. To be honest, all I want is Maju dead. Xepher, those lands will not be taken by us. If we take those lands, we will be taken down just as quickly. No tyrant has ever ruled a land for as long as they'd like." Tume explained.

Tume walked through the elephant graveyard looking down. Kiburi noticed that her son was back, and he didn't look too well. "Tume. Are you alright? Xepher didn't violate you did he?" Kiburi said bitterly. Tume looked at Kiburi with a frown.

"No, because he's still alive. See?" Tume said as Xepher arrived there as well.

Ayari approached the little cub along with Husudu, and gazed down at the little cub. Ayari looked to Vitani with a raised eyebrow, and then at the cub who was staggering to stand again. "This is really weird..." Ayari murmured as he smiled. The little thing was really adorable, and even when it fell, it kept on trying to stand up. "I have no idea why they'd leave us a cub, but I don't think it has a mother or father. It's a new born so it'll need feeding..." Ayari said knowing for a fact Vitani couldn't do it because it was not her time. Ayari grinned as he looked to Siri who just arrived.

"Oh, now this is unfair..." Siri growled looking down embarrassingly. Ayari chuckled.

"Well you are the only one that can do it Siri. Besides, you'll make more when your cub is born anyways." Ayari pointed out. Siri sighed and rolled her eyes. The cub slowly opened it's emerald green eyes and the first thing it saw was Husudu. The cub struggled and whined as it attempted to stand up and walk towards Husudu.

Ayari watched and laughed. "That's adorable! Husudu it think's your it's mother!" Ayari said with a cackle. Siri smirked as she pinched Husudu's cheek.

"Awh, look at you! Here you were talking about hating cubs a couple moments ago, and look what the great king's above have sent you" Siri said with a giggle. Husudu growled as he stepped away from the cub.

"That's funny." Husudu muttered. The cub staggered and fell down. It looked helplessly after Husudu and whined quietly, with a quivering lower lip. It made a small whining noise after Husudu. Husudu rolled his eyes and looked back to the cub. His ice cold heart melted at the way that little cub was looking at him. He was a cruel merciless killer, but this little cub couldn't be ignored. It was too helpless.

"Oh come on Husudu! Are you honestly that cruel. Pick up the damn cub!" Ayari said with a frown, and a disapproving shake of his head. Husudu muttered angrily under his breath as he walked up to the cub, and picked it up by the scruff. He then took it up pride rock, being careful to not upset the young cub.

Shwari let Zina eat first considering it was her first big kill. He was really proud that Zina picked up on the lesson he taught her yesterday, and today. He also noticed that she was a little more confident, and that made Shwari even happier. He walked alongside her and began to eat at what she didn't want to. Several times their muzzles almost touched, and once or twice Shwari had to clean up Zina's face free of blood. It was when they were done that Shwari spoke again. "Zina. I'm really proud of you." Shwari said with a chuckle. He wondered what the others were doing at pride rock right now.

Shaking his head in dismay as he sometimes truly didn’t understand Tume’s motives, Xepher shrugged as he stated in a quiet voice, seeing as they had almost reached The Elephant Graveyard by this point.

”Fine, whatever Tume, just don’t go having a change of heart on me here.”

Arriving back at their dreary looking abode, Xepher scowled from his aunts comment regarding him and Tume, forcing the bothered male to snap back in a cold voice.

”If anyone’s going to be violated by myself, it’s going to be you Aunty Kiburi, but you’d enjoy that too much now wouldn’t you.”

Bearing his teeth in a mock show of aggression towards Kiburi, Xepher padded off towards where Guza typically stayed, calling back over his shoulder as he departed.

”Going to [I]assist[/] the Fire Freak. Let me know when we’re ready to move out.”

Making his way towards the back of The Elephant Graveyard near the active steam geysers, Xepher’s eyes scanned the gloomy looking environment until he spotted Guza. Smirking deviously, Xepher called out to him in an antagonizing tone.

”So, what are those crazy voices in that head of yours, saying today Guza?”

==========

A fond smile worked its way upon Vitani’s muzzle as she watched the young lioness cub struggling to gain its balance, it’s tiny little legs wobbling to and fro. Hearing her pathetic sounding whimpers, Vitani could feel her own motherly instincts being triggered as she gently encouraged the youngster to stand with a light tap of her fore paw. Watching as the cub slowly made its way over to where Husudu was standing and hearing her fellow pride members comments, Vitani laughed openly as she stated in a playful voice.

”Oh, the poor thing must be delirious if she thinks that Husudu is anything even close to being a parent. Maybe those two dropped her on her head or something, cause that’s the only explanation I can think of for her wanting to be close to him.”

Taking a seat next to Ayari now, Vitani observed Husudu’s actions intently. A bit taken aback by just how gentle the grey furred male was when it came to the little cub, Vitani could tell that something was different about him, yet she held her tongue for the time being, not wishing to evoke any sort of reaction out of Husudu while the young lioness was in his care. Once both felines were out of sight, Vitani turned back to Ayari and addressed the matter that she had wanted to speak to him about previously, in regards to the two males that had delivered the cub moments ago. Leaning her body up against his, just to ensure that her question would be taken as nothing more than pure curiosity, Vitani spoke softly to Ayari as she nuzzled his chest fur lovingly.

”I saw that look upon your face when those two males showed up Ayari. Do you know either of them?”

==========

Enjoying their meal together in relative silence, Zina continued to savor her first official kill with Schwari, only being distracted every so often with him grooming her face, which caused her to purr softly every time his tongue ran over her fur. Having had her fill and feeling quite content at this point, Zina turned to face Schwari, who seemed to be still enjoying his meal as well. Feeling the overwhelming sensation of both accomplishment and pride filling her being, Zina found herself leaning down towards the grey furred male’s muzzle. Before she knew what she was doing, the pair had locked muzzle lips in a loving display of affection.

Upon feeling Schwari’s muzzle lips against hers for the second time today, although this time around, it had been instigated by herself, Zina’s body trembled with sheer delight as her eyes closed and her tongue found its way into Schwari’s maw, tasting the last remains of his breakfast as she kissed him passionately. This was a huge step forward from what she had previously been and now that her feelings were out in the open, there was no turning back. Departing their muzzles from one another, Zina gazed into Schwari’s eyes as she searched desperately for the right words to say. After a short moment of silence, the words finally dribbled out of her muzzle as she spoke in a gentle voice.

”I think…I think I love you Schwari.”

Slowly licking her muzzle lips and keeping her stare focused upon the attractive male in front of her, Zina’s chest slowly rose and fell as she sat, seemingly mesmerized by Schwari’s mere presence, her tail flicking thoughtfully behind her as her fore paws slowly inched their way closer to his.
