"Why is everyone hating on Zoella so much? People use ghost-writers all the time, it's not a big deal."
^This is true, HOWEVER Zoella constantly said she was "writing a book" and only her name appears on the front cover. As well as this, a message on the blurb reads “My dream has been to write a book, and I can't believe it's come true. Girl Online is my first novel and I'm so excited for you to read it.” The ghost-writer didn't get any credit, apart from the acknowledgements saying "thank you to so-and-so who was with me every step of the way." That. Doesn't. Count.
Sorry, but as an aspiring writer, this pisses me off a lot. There is nothing more frustrating than having someone else take credit for your work. During the summer the ghost-writer posted a message on her blog saying she had 6 weeks to write 80000 words (i.e. the whole book), so from the looks of it Zoella didn't write anything at all. She says she came up with "the story and the characters" but IMO that's like saying "I did this painting because I bought the paint". Uh-uh. Why say your dream is to write a book and then when the opportunity comes not actually write it? I'd give anything to have a book deal, and be able to make money from something I loved doing...
IDK but if it were me posing for photos holding up a book bearing my name that I didn't write, I'd feel pretty lousy.

I'd better get in the shower.
