Kapuki still looked as if she was about to burst into tears. But she knew she had to stay strong for her sister. Chaltuu growled softly, still frustrated. Where was a Spirit-forsaken lioness? If any of them could find one, she'd jump in a fit of glee. Any lioness would be great if she could just provide food.

[Labatis]

"I'll go look over that way. Hopefully I'll be back with a lioness." Angus pointed his head towards the southeast, and began to hurry in that direction. If he was lucky, he'd be back with a lioness. If not, perhaps Chaltuu and Kapuki would already be convincing one.

Kapuki nodded. She was still frantic. After all, how was she supposed to feel when she could see her sister's ribs and spine poking from her thin fur. She sniffed around, but looked back to make sure that no hyena or other greedy scavenger attempted to snatch Shujaa away. Kapuki's golden-tawny fur bristled with annoyance as she recalled the lionesses in her pride telling her that it was no use trying to feed Shujaa, that the cub would just starve and perish anyways. She remembered her own sharp, acidic responses- and she didn't regret any of them. Her sister would survive.

Angus hurriedly looked for any signs of movement, and any scents that came to him. Any lion or lioness had a clumsy-like walk, so if one was nearby, surely he could tell if it was a lioness or not. By now the sun was risen just barely over the trees, meaning the time they had to help the cub was lowering. Angus was somewhat confident they would find what they are looking for, out of all of their desperation to help this suffering newborn to survive.

[Shall they fine one soon?]

Chaltuu lashed her tail a little. She continued to "taste" the air and sniff around, her scowl still plastered on her face. Her muzzle was wrinkled and her pawsteps heavy and prolonged. Kapuki was desperate- she didn't know about Angus, but she was sure he was feeling a bit of stress too in the whole mess.
Meanwhile, Shujaa squirmed and whimpered softly, her small tail flicking and her paws patting at the dirt.

Angus was getting exhausted, and was losing hope just as fast if not more. They'd been looking for a long time, but it seemed as though all the lionesses with cubs or expecting cubs were in a pride together. He made sure his steps were quiet, so he could hear a distant wail of a cub, with their mother not far off. Now Angus was depending on Kapuki and Chaltuu to find a lioness, for he was rather unlucky wherever he went.

As if by miracle, a short lioness with a rounded belly trotted past. She flicked her tail, but flinched a little when she noticed Chaltuu and Angus' scarred bodies. She forced herself to ignore it and continued to pad past them. She looked rather healthy and strong, as if she hadn't been pestered much after she became expectant of cubs.

[Labatis]

Angus heard the clumsy walk of the expectant lioness, and turned his head over in the direction to face her. Have they found a pregnant lioness? Yes! He was almost leaping with joy to know that they finally found one, and was tempted to run straight towards her. Of course, the female had no idea who they were, and just as he thought, the scars were intimidating. His tail flicked calmly, and he eyed her from a distance, so he wouldn't scare her off. Now all he had to do was convince the lioness to help Chaltuu and Kapuki's younger sister.

The lioness grunted, and continued on her path, focusing on a fine shelter instead of the two lions watching her. She would pay no attention to them unless they ran towards her.

Chaltuu didn't really know how to approach this lioness. She was afraid she would scare her off, so she leaned closer to Kapuki and whispered, "Pick up Shujaa and walk towards her casually." Kapuki stood and obeyed, grasping Shujaa's scruff and walking past the expectant lioness hopefully.

[Labatis]

Her expression was blank, but she raised a brow, watching the cream lioness pass by with a cub. It was clearly obvious she hadn't given birth to it, she was way too young. Though she did notice the cub was really skinny, and possibly about dead. "Where are you going with that cub..?" She asked, not sure if that lioness was planning on killing it.
