Chaltuu swiftly headed out of the territory, dropping the cub at the border. She tried to motion towards Kapuki to run towards the border, but she couldn't spot her sister anywhere. They needed to get out, hide their scents, and find a lioness to help Shujaa survive.
The thought hit her like her father's paw against her head. They needed a lioness with milk to provide Shujaa with food- Chaltuu had nearly forgotten all about it, with all the tension going on. But she did wonder where Kapuki was- still fleeing from Kivuli's followers?

[Labatis]

[Kapuki better be safe by the time Angus finds her >:c]

Angus wasn't far behind, and when he caught up with Chaltuu, he looked around for Kapuki. He couldn't seem to notice her anywhere, and her scent was a bit stale. "Where's Kapuki?" He whispered as quietly as he could, lifting his head to try and see if she was visible from a distance. His ears swiveled towards any sound, still alert for if one of the lions awoke.

[She will be.]

Almost as if it was her cue, Kapuki sprinted towards them, scooping up her baby sister with surprising gentleness and then swerving to the side, the cub whimpering faintly. The older lioness grimaced, feeling a bit of regret for running so quickly. She could feel Shujaa squirming slightly. I'll get you to someone. You'll be all right, she promised silently. Suddenly she felt another pang- of regret. Would she even be able to keep that promise?

Angus watched Kapuki swiftly take the cub and run off, and without another word, he carefully trotted towards the water. There was some mud not far from that water hole, so they could use whatever is most useful. Then again, what were they supposed to do? Roll in the mud, and roll where they walked? Perhaps the two needed a better plan, but Angus would wait for what Chaltuu thought. In the meantime, he'd be searching for something more convenient.

Chaltuu motioned towards Angus with her tail, gesturing for him to roll in the mud a little. After her own pelt was soaked in the dark brown mud, she dripped some mud in her own tracks. Kapuki's pawprints were mixed in with others- and the scents were mingled. Kapuki was safe, as it could be seen as she was intruding, and the others were driving her away. She hoped the mud would throw Kivuli off- if it didn't, and she was found, Kivuli never just threatened. He would hurt her, and Kapuki, and Angus.

After a couple moments, Angus realized what Chaltuu was doing. He, too, began to roll in the mud a bit. A lot had stuck to his flank rather quickly. Once the majority of the mud was mixed in and covering their scents, he tried to remember where Kapuki had gone. Was she just going to leave a distance and wait for them, or was she already searching for a lioness? It wouldn't matter with whatever she chose, it might have been better if Kapuki did search for a lioness. After they are out of the territory, it shouldn't be hard to catch her scent, and it would give them more time to find a healthy lioness to care for the newborn.

Kapuki was resting, but at the same time looking for a lioness. Her scent was fortunately disguised. She sniffed around, but left Shujaa comfortably tucked underneath a non-thorny bush in a soft pile of earth. No scents. Silently she cursed the savanna. She needed someone to provide nourishment for Shujaa, Spirits forbid it! Her tail lashed again and she unsheathed her claws in frustration. Shujaa was much too young to be weaned, and they couldn't feed her with something without any nutrition.

Angus gestured to Chaltuu that they should start going now, in case some members woke at the break of dawn. He noticed how the air was slightly warmer, usually meaning the first bits of dawn was on its way. If they wanted the cub to survive, they were going to have hurry. It's hardly had any nourishment, and it could starve to death. A couple rustle noises were made, but other than that, there was no sound as he began to leave the territory.

Chaltuu started to leave, the mud still freshly dripping off of her. She flicked her ear as she heard Shujaa's hungry wail. Her little sister wasn't being too loud, thank the Spirits... But that was any cub's sign that they were hungry and wanted food. Shujaa didn't just want food, she needed food. If only some lioness could miraculously show up.

[*Angus spawns a lioness 5 minutes away from them*]

By now Angus could see Kapuki near the cub, and he sped up his pace so they could look faster. Three pairs of eyes are better than one. It was almost painful looking at the cub- ribs already beginning to show. Whatever they were going to do, they needed to hurry before she dropped dead.
