A Private RP for Labatis

Kivuli managed to stagger to his paws, but he did not lunge at Kapuki or make an intimidating move towards Chaltuu. He simply bellowed, "Kapuki is hereby exiled! I don't want to see your face over this border ever again." He nastily snarled at Chaltuu. "And you, you little... MONSTER... If I see your hideous face one more time, I won't take it this lightly. I will kill you if I see you so much as peeking over this border. You understand me?!"
Kapuki jerked a little, but Chaltuu stood her ground. She was rather used to his yelling. She sneered, before beckoning with her tail. The other lions watched Chaltuu and Kapuki in shock.
"How dare you attack your own father?!" Naima shouted. Oh, great, miss Prissy-paws had arrived. She seemed to be yelling at both Chaltuu and Kapuki.

Angus flinched as he arose, and heard him only scold the two lionesses. Once he heard a certain lioness yell at Kapuki, he rolled his eyes, stepping a bit closer. "I suppose you have seen the horrible things he has just done to them, correct? Or are you too stupid to realize that?" He spat a bit quietly at her. He wasn't going to raise his voice so many of the others heard. It was clear that it was Kivuli's fault for everything that just happened. If he cared for his cubs at all, and never exiled Chaltuu, this whole fight wouldn't have happened. Even Angus, who was a rogue who barely knew Chaltuu, knew this was a fact. How could this lioness not have known? She's in the pride!

[I'm sorry, I was showering. xD]

Naima sneered in disgust at Chaltuu and Kapuki before shooting a glare at Angus. She turned with a humph, her nose in the air.
"What do we do about Shujaa?" Chaltuu muttered to Kapuki and Angus. She felt sorry for the cub. Only a newborn and having to deal with Kivuli. She limped forward, her footsteps unsteady. She wasn't injured too terribly, but her wounds still hurt. Was Angus okay, though? Was Kapuki all right? Would they be able to manage? And would Shujaa be able to endure Kivuli's relentlessness? She almost felt shocked with herself. She had never felt concerned before, about anyone but Kapuki. A first time for everything, she thought.

Angus ignored the grumpy lioness, and glanced towards the cub before looking back at Chaltuu. "We could try to take the cub." He began quietly. "But we may have to introduce it to meat early." It was a dumb idea, it may be better to come when it grows a bit older, and they could only hope it survives in the meantime. Unless Chaltuu or Kapuki could magically give the cub milk, it was either wait or give it meat early if they would take her at all.

Chaltuu harrumphed, not in a grumpy way, but in a more thoughtful sort of "tone". The cub was only a few days old, and already starving. It was obvious- right before Kivuli had announced Kapuki's exile, she had sneaked a glimpse in the den. Uangaze had been staring in shock, and Shujaa had still been struggling to nurse- the tiny cub had been pawing at her mother's belly feebly and blindly trying to latch onto a teat to be able to nurse.
Kapuki shrugged, not her usual grouchy self- being raised by Kivuli had really dampened her happiness down. "Hmm... Not trying to bash your idea or anything, but she's still young. I feel terrible, but I don't think we'd be able to find her a food source. She's still very young, and she hasn't grown in her teeth yet. By the time she does, she'd be dead if she had no food." She felt a sharp, painful stab of guilt. Was she, Shujaa's sister and guardian, suggesting that she just leave the cub there to suffer? She felt absolutely terrible, not just from the wounds she had received from Kivuli, but mainly because her "idea".

Angus took a deep breath. If there was nothing the three could do, then the cub would defiantly suffer. No one in the pride really cared, they appeared to only continue with their own lives. Even with Uangaze beginning to try and help it, this cub was way too weak to last much longer. Angus was no where near related to the poor cub, but he couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness hit him. "Are you sure there is nothing else we can do for it?" He asked, hoping Chaltuu or Kapuki had an idea.

Kapuki felt a pang of shame as she tried to convince herself that she had not been the one to suggest leaving, but it faded as an idea popped up in her head. "Hmm... What if we're able to find a lioness who's willing to nurse her? I know it seems weird, but usually a lioness only produces milk if she has a litter of cubs, or if she's expecting. We could make a deal- she nurses Shujaa, and we can protect her. If the lioness has cubs, we can protect the cubs too until Shujaa's old enough to be introduced to meat." She seemed a bit awkward and nervous, sharing her idea, but it was something.
She and Chaltuu sped up their paces just a little bit so they were flank-to-flank with Angus; they had been falling behind just a little. The two, and Kapuki guessed Angus felt the same way, wanted to get out of there before the rest of the pride decided to attack. Kivuli was a difficult enough opponent, but the three would die if a whole pride overpowered them.

"Where are we going to find a rogue lioness? Because we won't be able to ask one of the lionesses from here." Angus looked over his shoulder. The lionesses had gone back to what they were doing, almost as if nothing just happened. Were they going to take the cub, and search for a lioness to raise it? How would they know if they will find an expecting lioness or a lioness with cubs? It's been hard enough finding a lioness alone.

"Obviously not," Kapuki said. "But perhaps if we're lucky." She turned her head a little. If they didn't find a lioness who was willing to trade some milk for protection, how else would they be able to keep Shujaa alive? She supposed her idea did seem sort of foolish, but it was better than abandoning the cub and forcing her to live in eternal torture. Knowing Kivuli, if Shujaa wasn't how he wanted her to be- perfect, no doubt- he wanted nothing more to do with the cub, which Kapuki herself had found confusing. If he wanted an heir- and Uangaze wasn't necessarily that old, but she wouldn't be able to produce cubs after only a little while- he would have to start treating at least one of his cubs right.

"How will we get the cub even? You two are exiled, and I'm a rogue. It's obvious we can't get her easily." With Uangaze trying to feed it, and the other pride members nearby, they had to think of a way to take the cub. Sure they could go at night, but Kivuli probably stays up most nights.
