"Father refuses to acknowledge the cub," Kapuki said, frowning in the direction of Kivuli. "He says he just won't accept a cub who's too weak to nurse as his own.."
Chaltuu felt sympathy for her troubled sister. It was obvious Kapuki was concerned for the wellbeing and survival of little Shujaa. Chaltuu had never met the cub, so she couldn't feel too worried or grieved. But she did admit to herself, she would be sad if Shujaa didn't make it. But what shocked her most was that her father was just ignoring the cub. She knew that Kivuli was a cruel weasel-brain, but she never, ever thought he was so heartless as to not show one drop of concern for Shujaa.

[Yes, Chaltuu, it is obvious that Kivuli is a HEARTLESS FLEA-BAG *crying noises*]

Angus sighed, the thought of a newborn cub dying upsetting him. Yes, though Angus has been abusive to slightly older cubs, he felt bad for the suffering little one. Too weak to hardly nurse. Without any help, it was as good as dead. Chaltuu must be feeling sympathy for the cub as well, considering it was her youngest sister. He tried to change the subject, into wondering if Chaltuu will just leave Kapuki and the newborn, try to help them, or ask if Kapuki would come with her.

Chaltuu continued to speak with Kapuki about Shujaa, both of them voicing their concerns for the cub. Chaltuu was about to ask Kapuki if she'd like to join her when she heard a loud lion's bellow echo throughout the territory.
"Chaltuu!" Kivuli roared, his voice loud and dominant. He lifted his head and thrust his muzzle at Chaltuu's face aggressively. "And you, Kapuki! You failure of a daughter! I told you and every other lion in this pride that they are to kill her on sight!" He snarled at both of his daughters, not really noticing Angus. His anger probably distracted him from noticing anyone but his daughters.

Angus spun around, watching the older lion angrily scold them. This must be part of what Chaltuu explained. He kept low, wondering if he needed to attack the lion before he thought of killing Chaltuu. If Kapuki wanted to, she could defend her sister, but he didn't know how they'd react. In case he had to, Angus unsheathed his claws, baring his teeth while hidden in the grass.

[Kivuli, I'm going to kill you.]

[xDD I'm not even joking, I laughed so hard at that xD]

Kapuki flinched, but still growled. "How can you expect me to hurt my own sister, Father?"
Those words sent a little bit of comfort through Chaltuu. At least her sister would stick up for her.
"Well, just watch me then!" Kivuli snapped, cuffing Chaltuu extremely roughly over the side of her head. "See? Not that hard, Kapuki!"
Chaltuu's head throbbed, but it would fade. Nothing serious. It could have been worse- Kivuli could have bitten her or slashed her with his long claws. A hard, gruff smack like that hurt, but it wasn't lethal.

[xD Angus is just liek: I know what you are thinking, mister. -3-]

Angus growled lowly and quietly, watching the giant lion land an attack on Chaltuu. Kapuki was there, and obviously standing up for her older sister, so he had no need in jumping out and brutally attacking him. He needed to wait, and see if it got worse. If it did, then Angus would help out.

Kapuki instantly rushed to her sister's side. "Don't hurt her!" she spat.
"All this curse has ever done is bring shame upon our family! She's not even supposed to be here!" Kivuli roared. "Get out of here, Chaltuu, before I do something worse than a strike!" He turned towards Kapuki again. "You are a failure! Utter failure! You should have attacked your sister like any other normal lion would have!"
Chaltuu growled, but didn't back away. She felt anger and hate radiating through her pelt. Not only was he trying to hurt her, but he was verbally attacking Kapuki, and she had seen exactly how he just ignored his starving newborn cub.

Angus was getting frustrated with the dark colored lion. That family probably hasn't had a red-pelted lion in a long while, so what could it have possibly done? The only thing that Kivuli could blame Chaltuu for was the newborn's weakness, though they arrived when the cub had already been suffering. So her 'curse' couldn't have caused the cub to be weak. Besides, he probably doesn't even know that the cub is even born.

[-Punches Kivuli- Want to join the punch fest?]

Chaltuu growled as Kivuli attempted to land a blow over Kapuki's ears. She slapped his paw away, snarling as she felt her father's claws swipe across her forepaw. She bared her teeth, angry that her father was being so cruel, but also relieved- relieved that Angus was still hidden. Would he help her and Kapuki? No, that'd be instant death. Her father never welcomed lions if they knew Chaltuu, unless, of course, they hated her.
"What about your cub, huh?" Chaltuu spat. "Shujaa?" As soon as the words tumbled out of her mouth, she regretted it- now Kivuli would know his second-born daughter had been feeding Chaltuu information.
"You told her about Shujaa?!" Kivuli roared. "Kapuki, you dishonorable brat!"
"I never thought you'd care!" Kapuki snapped back at her father.
Kivuli snarled aggressively, his colossal shape looming over his slightly injured red-furred daughter and Kapuki threateningly. "You both know I don't tolerate traitors. You, Chaltuu, are a traitor, for existing, really." He didn't seem to care that he was saying that to his own daughter. "And Kapuki, you are a traitor for telling Chaltuu everything that was supposed to be kept secret from filthy flea-ridden rogues like her!"
Kapuki, instead of his insults fueling her anger, hung her head. "I'm sorry, Father."
Chaltuu felt shock rushing through her veins. Was Kapuki truly ashamed of being honest?

[*bawls*] [Should Angus join in now? He's just sitting there, waiting for a time when he should attack. HE WANTS TO BEAT KIVULI UP]

Angus grew more infuriated when he also began to scold what was supposed to be the heir to the throne. If he exiled Kapuki, what was left? A suffering princess? He needed an heir, and had to show respect for one of his daughters or sons, unless he wanted no king or queen when he died. It would be obvious Uangaze couldn't be queen much longer- she was getting old, and clearly wouldn't have the ability to give birth to cubs that many more times. If this fight worsened, Angus would surely land an attack on their father, hoping that Chaltuu and Kapuki will join in. Perhaps if he did lunge out at him, Chaltuu would most likely help. He wasn't entirely sure where Kapuki planned to go by apologizing, it was clear that Kivuli was showing some hatred towards her. Either way, there was a possibility she'd get exiled.
