A Private RP for Labatis

[Iri]

Chaltuu finished grappling with Hamadou. "Get down!" she hissed to Angus. She looked around, then spotted her father. He had dark brown fur and olive green eyes. He had a black "Outsider"-styled nose. "That's him," she whispered. Kivuli was pacing in his cave, oblivious to the slight commotion.

As soon as he heard Chaltuu's command, he ducked down, looking over at the den. "What's his problem?" Angus was referring to his pacing, wondering what could possibly be wrong with him. But, Chaltuu was right, He was bulk, full of strength, and probably a mighty strong blow.

"I have no idea." Chaltuu sniffed the air and peered through the rain. "Wait... She's got a cub." Well, her theory was correct. Her mother had had a new cub. Where was Kapuki, though?
The new cub had pale brownish-grey fur. Its eyes still looked closed and it was tiny. She assumed it was a newborn... She flicked her tail. Was Kapuki just not there?

"Maybe we should look around some more." Angus quietly looked around, not moving from his spot yet. "What does your sister look like?" Perhaps she was out hunting, or just not in view currently. But, if Angus knew what color her sister was, it would be easier to locate her.

[Iri]

"She's got a tan-golden sort of fur, and pale ear rims. Most lions have darker ear rims. Her most distinctive trait are her purplish eyes though," Chaltuu said quietly. She looked around, narrowing her eyes. "Oh, there she is." She pointed with her muzzle towards a lioness who met those traits. Kapuki was gnawing on a bone, her pale purple eyes flashing with an unfamiliar anger. She looked like she loathed having to feed off of bones.

"You head over there, I'll stay back here." This way Angus could help make sure she wasn't caught, while Chaltuu reunited with her sister. It hadn't gone nearly as bad as he thought, in fact, they nearly got any scratches on them. Being as curious as he was, Angus decided to eavesdrop on them when they started talking. Now all that there was left for him to do was watch and hope her sister remembered her.

[Eavesdropper, Angus. Bad boy.]

Fortunately, there was enough grass for Chaltuu to sneak in unnoticed. It was also long and thick enough to conceal Angus too.
"Kapuki?" she whispered.
Kapuki jumped, but didn't yelp or cry out, to which Chaltuu was grateful for. "Shhh," she whispered. "It's me. Chaltuu. Remember?" She felt a surge of hope, wanting Kapuki to nod.
Kapuki looked stuck in long thought for a minute. "You look... Really familiar."
"Yeah. It's me. Your sister, Chaltuu. I was exiled when you were younger," Chaltuu explained hurriedly.
"I remember you," Kapuki said.
Chaltuu felt a rush of relief. Thank the Spirits- Kapuki recognized her. That was good. She didn't want Kapuki to just tilt her head and say something like I don't know you or anything similar to that.
"But why in the Spirit's name are you here?" Kapuki hissed. "You're exiled."
A wave of sadness hit Chaltuu. "I wanted to make sure you were okay, Kapuki... Is that cub in there Kivuli's? And Uangaze's?"
"Yes," Kapuki replied. "Her name's Shujaa."
Shujaa. Chaltuu faintly remembered the meaning of that name- "warrior". She hoped that the cub would grow up to be strong. But this "Shujaa" looked rather small, curled up by Uangaze's belly, trying to nurse. The cub looked even smaller than Kapuki did when she was born, and it appeared to be extremely weak. Chaltuu watched throw narrowed eyes as Shujaa feebly tried to nurse from Uangaze, but kept having to stop for a few gulps of breath.

[But Chaltuu! Your conversations are entertaining! :c]

Angus was glad that her sister remembered her, and while they spoke about the cub in the den, he was studying the territory. Very decent area, convenient for raising cubs. Seeing how they were most likely covered, Angus let down his guard a bit, taking a glimpse of the small cub. He began to feel sympathy for it, judging that by its actions, it may not survive.

"Shujaa's very weak," Kapuki said sadly. "We don't know if she'll live."
Chaltuu wasn't necessarily bursting to tell Kapuki, "Of course she'll live! She'll be okay!", for she knew that Shujaa might not survive, considering the circumstances. The rain and foggy-ish air was probably making the cub sicker and weaker than before, and Shujaa looked like an unlucky one.
Uangaze showed a little bit of affection for the cub, gently urging it to nurse. Kivuli wasn't paying his cub nor his mate any attention whatsoever, but pacing nervously and muttering unintelligible things. He looked troubled and stressed, but not really over his cub, it seemed. If he was concerned about his daughter, he'd probably have been crouching by his mate and helping Shujaa nurse instead of ignoring his small, frail cub.

Angus stretched out a bit, frowning at Chaltuu's father. He probably was worrying over a twig snapping in the wrong way, other than the fact of the low chances that small cub would survive. It wasn't his business, really, but he still wanted to know what was troubling the king so much he couldn't even notice the weak cub.
