The new danger in the land

Coming up to Tua, Marini had to resist the urge to let out her anger in a physical way. "See?! This is just what I keep telling you about! 'Just marry me whether you want to or not because I'm so stupid and narrow minded to even consider loving anybody else or to bring your own happiness into consideration'!" She stomped her paw on the ground in frustration. "Well I'm done with this and with your selfishness, Tua! I've had enough. Goodbye." Turning around, she left the den.

Tua was on the ground. Barely moving but also barely breathing. He tried his best to call her as if he was being chocked.
Tua: Ma-....Mariniiiiii! Hel-...help!

Marini, however, was well out of earshot. It was Simba who came up to Tua, looking shocked. "What happened?!"

[Adofo]

Tua: .....the.....poison.....
The poison still in his system reached his heart and lungs

"What poison?! But Rafiki helped you!" Letting out a roar of frustration, the king lifted his friend onto his back and began to run towards the mandrill's tree.

[Adofo]

Tua: ....Si-Simba.....tell Marini.....I'm sorry.
Before they reached the tree Tua went completely limp.

"Rafiki!" Simba couldn't keep himself still until Rafiki came. "I thought you helped him! What happened?!"

[Adofo]

Rafiki: Someone must have given him more!!
He poured a lot more of his juice mix into his throat. Rafiki checked him over.
Rafiki: .....I'm sorry Simba.....we were too late. He's gone.

Simba couldn't believe it. His best friend, the brother he never had, the lion he loved so much, gone? "Who did this?" Whoever it was, he / she were going to regret it.

Meanwhile, Marini found the white lion resting at the same spot where the two of them had mated 3 nights ago. "Hey, Lin..." she said, smiling a little timidly.
"Marini?" Smiling warmly, Lin stood up and walked over to her. She blushed. "I haven't seen you since, well..." he rubbed the back of his head with a paw sheepishly. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay..." she said.
"L-look, I'm sorry about what happened... I know we just met not so long ago and-"
"It's okay." said Marini. "It was my fault just as much if not more..." Then, much to Lin's surprise, she closed the small gap between them and licked him across his muzzle. Shs felt at peace with him. No pressure, no worries... Just her and a lion who could see past his own nose.

Rafiki inspected Tua's mouth. He found a few herbs in his teeth. When they are all mixed together they are very toxic.
