The new danger in the land

Tua awoke. Still unsteady from the night before.
Tua: I need to face it....she'll never give me another chance. I blew it.

When Marini woke up the following morning, Tua was no where to be seen. But, of course, she didn't know that he was more than an hour's walk away from her location. With a sigh, the young lioness got out from underneath the blanket and stretched before drinking some water. Deciding to eat, since there was plenty of food left thanks to Tua's... over-hunting, she did just that before making her way back to the blanket. It was still a very early hour of the morning and, therefore, it was still cold. Either way, she didn't feel like going anywhere else. Tucking herself underneath the blanket once more, she only then became aware of the fact that one of the dead animals neither she nor Tua have eaten from was no longer whole. Somebody else had eaten from it (and very recently too).

Tua picked himself up and started heading back to his spot. After about an hours walk he found Marini under his blanket.
Tua: Marini? I......I'm sorry about yesterday. I understand....if you never want to see me again. Or even be near me. I know....that it's over between us.
He still had the sound of heartbreak in his voice.

As if right on cue, as soon as Marini became aware of the fact that she and Tua weren't the only ones to have fed off his kills, she heard the sound of rustling grass in front of her. Raising her gaze from the ground, she let out a soft gasp when she saw him. She'd never seen a white lion in her life before, and had even thought that lions with such a unique appearance did not exist.

His mane was impossible not to see despite it having the exact same color as the rest of his fur and, considering his size, there was no doubt that she was looking at a male. His light blue eyes were fixed directly on her, but his expression was blank and unreadable. Marini doubted she'd be able to fight the rogue off because of him being bigger than her and because of her lack of fighting experience.

Therefore, she was ready to turn around and run back to Pride Rock as quickly as possible, but the strange lion simply continued to stand there and stare at her. The young lioness then also became aware of the fact that he could have hurt her already if he'd wanted to - since he'd obviously eaten from Tua's kills while she'd slept. To her further confusion - nothing happened.

She considered doing something or saying something but was too nervous to do so. After what seemed like a very long time, the lion suddenly turned around and disappeared without a trace. A minute or so later, Tua came back. "I'm... I'm gonna go back to Pride Rock now." she said with a soft sigh, getting up and walking past him in the direction of their home.

Hearing him say that it was over between them did feel strange, but it's not like much had taken place between them since Tua simply had to rush into things and try to push her like that. At the moment she was too confused in order to think about that.

Tua went the long way home as to not make traveling back home with Marini too awkward. When he got home he found his friend Simba at the opening of the den.
Tua: Hey Simba.....well.....I blew it.

Simba looked at his friend, confusion and concern in his expression. "Yeah, Marini came back a few minutes ago looking quite upset..." he said. "What happened?"

Tua: I......asked her to marry me. It just exploded out of me! Ugh.....now she'll never love me.

Simba let out a sigh. Just what was her friend thinking asking Marini to marry him after going out with her once? Even if she weren't so reserved about love it would have still been way, way too soon for any lioness. "Well, I don't know what to say..."

Tua: You can call me an idiot. Because thats what I am. So I guess.....I'll be all alone now. There is no room in my heart except for her.
After two full days, Tua has hardly moved from his spot in the den. He hasn't eaten or drank anything since him and Marini had dinner on their last date. And he hasn't said a word to anyone.
