^ Almost every time I post anything there, someone quotes everything, ignores pretty much everyone else (or at least doesn't argue with them, even the ones who've agreed with me), and then keeps arguing with me even if it is something trivial like that. I swear to all the gods I don't even believe in. They tear apart everything I have to say, no matter how logical, act like I'm an idiot, straight up say I'm wrong, usually with weak ass arguments, and then act all hurt and offended when I get blunt. Never fails. If they wouldn't give me attitude, there wouldn't be any problems. I can respectfully disagree with people who provide a solid argument as to why they have a different opinion. But these people don't. They just don't. I don't come here to argue with people about things that don't matter, and yet all the people who want to do that zero in on my posts and start quoting and [censored]. And the ones who do try to provide a solid argument tend not to read anything I've said (or not understand it), reply angrily (even if I happened to agree with them) and then remove pride points from me for allegedly doing whatever stupid [censored] they in fact actually did.

That post in particular, today? No, not a big deal. I'm not even mad about it. I'm just sick of people contradicting me, giving me attitude, misreading/misinterpreting/not reading my post before replying, and then failing to provide evidence that is logical as to why I am "wrong." And that always happens when I post in that section. They even find posts from months prior to start crap on, and no. I'm just done. If that's the kind of people in that part of the board, then fine, I won't go there. I'm not a target and I'm not gonna keep dealing with it.

^ Yeah, I know what you mean. Personally I think you might've overreacted a bit on that particular thread, but I totally see what you're saying (and yes, I do know what other post you're talking about where the person removed PPs. That was a bit silly and unfair, in my opinion). I mean, I'm open for debate and all, but at the end of the day, it's a movie, it's fictional, we can't 'know' these things for sure. Like Nuka/Kovu/Vitani's parents, for instance. I see people climb on Youtube all the time and get absolutely pissy when someone gives an alternate point of view or presents a possible AU, even if they clearly mark it as an AU.

In any case, I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. The people who go on a caps-lock rage or flat-out say you're wrong if you suggest that maybe Nala was Vitani's mother. -______- Or go out and scream "OMG Kouv was lyk Kira's cuzzin cuz he was Scar's son"... or, even worse, "NO THIS THEORY IS FALSE KOPA WAS VITANI'S MATE AND SIMBA'S SON, HE WAS KILLED BY ZIRA!!!!1!" Like seriously, people, calm down. There's really no evidence for most of these theories anyway. We all know and understand that TLKII is heavily retconned - this is just a symptom of that.

Personally, I think that that section can bring up some good debates and well-thought out posts. I like to give it a visit every now and again. Quitting it entirely because of a few people seems a bit odd to me, but then again, I can understand your desire to get away from the rabid fans. People do get kind of weird and defensive in there sometimes. And having your argument or intentions flat out misunderstood is incredibly frustrating.

I guess what I'm trying to say is just not to let it get you down. People tend to react negatively when they get an angry response, no matter how justified. If this weren't the case, I would probably rage on every third person I see, but it just tends not to do any good. Some people are just naturally hard-headed and refuse to see reason.

^ It's not a few people, comparatively, lol. I've been dealing with this for nearly three years straight every time I'm in that board. x3 I've several times thought of ignoring it completely, but held out a hope it would improve. It hasn't, so I'm done. I get on the internet to have a nice distraction, and quite honestly I'm endeavoring to be happy in my life, so I'm removing all unnecessary BS. I already quit the World Issues section for that reason. I don't come here to bicker needlessly like they keep dragging me into doing.

Apparently my opinions are too controversial, on every topic, so I'll keep them to myself, and hopefully the rude people who do that crap will continue to remain outside the rest of the Den and the Fandom sections, so I don't have to leave altogether (which, to be quite honest, I've also thought about from time to time).
