Yeah, TPAM, I met a lot of nice people in Reno and in Cali the times I visited. I know they're not all bad. But I guess I'm just worried that it'll be like Washington in a way. :roll3: Basically a lot of people who have no idea how to take care of themselves and are basically bad at everything but still try to tell you what to do (doesn't help that our school is known for being 'the preppy one').

I honestly think America in general has its fair share of idiots, we're not exactly known for being smart, which is annoying. Our public schools are crappy so that might be why. TBH, I've missed nearly 100 days of high school since I entered in 10th grade, and I'm going to be a senior this year. :/ My school isn't even that bad academically but I just can't stand it there, I really don't like most of the people (and like I said, they're not that bad compared to some schools in other places, but they're just... annoying as hell...).

God, I probably sound like I'm complaining so much today. x3 But yeah, I seriously need to leave. And here I was starting to think Alaska sounded like a nice place to live... maybe I should try Wyoming one day? It's the least populous state. That might be nice.

EDIT: Too slow. And TPAM, I don't think TPATPAM likes Samba, I think he likes Nela slightly more. Or maybe Masa? :P MASA DA BSET FADER OMG WHEN HE DEID I MAD A RIVER WIT MY TERAS. :ccccccccc

TPATPATPAM, I'm referring more to things like the cost of a house. Like TPAM, we are poor and can't live anywhere else than here right now. In fact, I am legally homeless. There have to be cheap(ish) homes or I can't live there. :S

I understand how you feel bout this place, TPAM. 100%. And I don't think it's complaining if you're simply speaking the truth. 8-)

Thanks, TPAM. :hug2: I hate feeling like I'm complaining all the time, I don't like to do it, but yeah, that's how I feel. :/

And yeah, if we weren't living with my grandmother we probably wouldn't have a house to live in either (or if we did find a really cheap place we would've needed government aid just to buy food and stuff, which we didn't want), so I totally get what you mean there. My dad was offered a job in California but he had to decline simply because it's just too expensive to live there. He was seriously talking about going down alone (ie, without me and my brother) and living out of his car for like six months before even sending us down there, but even then it just didn't add up logistically or financially. So we still live here even though it's been almost 8 years now.

I know for a fact that I'm probably going to have to pay for most, if not all, of my college myself. Which is why I'm hoping for some nice scholarships. I'd hate to not be able to go because of money. :s

I've been there TPATPAM. We're staying in a house, so it isn't really homeless (just legally), and we have some "luxuries" (necessities these days) but we can't afford anything else and sometimes have to go to the Good Samaritans for food. (We're considered too "high income" to receive any aid from the government.) I've had to take out a loan in order to finish school because all of a sudden I'm "not smart enough" for scholarships, and tbh I'm not sure how I'll ever pay it back. :/ It's very stressful dealing with that, and I'm trying to find a job, but I don't know if I can handle work and school if I do get one.

Thanks TPAM. It's okay, life has always been like this. I don't really know anything else. :P And this is why I don't understand how there are people who think America is the one and only best country.

This is truth. :s

Thanks for the hug. :hug3: :3 But again, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. I do have enough to eat and a roof over my head so, you know, can't say too much. And it's still sure as hell better than what our living situation was like before we moved. I don't know how much longer we could've kept all that up without, well... issues...

EDIT: Just saw Julie's post. One sec.

I feel you. Like I said, I'll have to get a scholarship. That or deal with having a ton of jobs, which I don't really want since I'd rather focus on doing well in school. :/ Luckily this scholarship I'm looking at is full-ride tuition, room, and board for four years at a nice college, and is geared towards low-income students. Best of all, it asks for our income statistics from 2013, before my dad got his job, so we definitely qualify. (We were low-income enough to qualify for government aid, but we never ended up taking it because, as any American knows, there are tons of people who get on Welfare, milk the system, and then never get off it again... like, ever...)

In my experience TPAM, most of the people on the aid actually need it, and do get off it when it becomes possible. Nearly every member of my family has been in that position before. (There are some that milk the system, but only ones who are determined to be poor). From my experience the idea that "tons of people" as you put it are doing that is simply propaganda and myth.

That may be true, but then, those people usually make themselves pretty prominent, and it frustrates me. Thing is, nobody should be doing it at all. But there are people who take a lot of money from it, and that just means less for people who could actually make use out of it.

I have no problem with people who need it using it though. We didn't use Welfare/unemployment, personally, but we still got money from the government for other things (retirement pay for my dad and money for my brother's disability), and that was pretty much our only income, so it's not like I can say it's entirely bad. It has its purpose. I just don't like the idea of people taking advantage of things at other peoples' expense. Although this is America we are talking about, what do you expect? Everyone to be kind and generous? :tired:

In the French school system you got to chose between three path for your time in highschool
-french/languages Specialization
-economic and social Specialization
- scientific Specialization

i chose the second , and we are clearly taught the differents systems out there. Your governement seems to give no aid whatsoever. If i understood correctly , it is the harsh reality of thoses who succeed versus thoses who struggle , without anything given by the governement. You and twin made me realize that thoses struggles are common place...

I'd say that unfortunately , most of the "America-lovers" are either young people , who only see actors , luxury and grandeur in America , or people that are just ignorant about thoses facts , because they didn't choose the same path as i did back in school , or they didn't even bother to watch once a non-biased tv coverage about said facts.

TPAM i honestly am sorry to learn the hardship of your life , i had no idea at all. But you seem ressourceful , and even if you say you skip a lot of school i'd be damned if you are called uneducated. There is surely some hope for you , there is always at least a glimmer of hope.
