^ If you're talking about the avatars (little pictures under the usernames) or signatures (pictures/text under the post), then you'll want to go the top left and find where it says "User Control Panel". Click there, then click on the "Profile" tab, and voila, you can edit all of those things there, and figure out your profile settings.

If you want to add an image to a post, simply use the image tag like so:

[ i m g ] image url [ / i m g ] (without spaces).
