(I was thinking, maybe at some point after they've bonded recently, Yekize says she's pregnant. Because she faked eating the herb.)

"Adofo, I saw what happened," Yekize said. Her voice was gentle and compassionate. "My love... if you're going to try to go straightforward and just call Mbaya's mother the jerk, that's just going to make her angrier. You have to go smoothly, not just start yelling at Kaleema. That's going to turn out awfully."

"Mbaya believes that that sort of treatment is normal," Yekize said. "Hey!" She licked her mate's chin. "I have an idea, my love. Why don't you take Samaki out and play with her around Mbaya? Don't tell Samaki about it, of course. But just love on Samaki, and Mbaya might become confused why Samaki is treated so well and why Mbaya herself is treated like a fly."

Yekize smiled. She nuzzled Adofo. "But don't fake on loving Samaki and all that, and don't go overboard. You have to just be casual and love her, not be unrealistic."

[Adofo]

Adofo: I won't. But I do love her like crazy! And hey honey......do you ever want to have more cubs?

"Sometime. But not now," Yekize said softly.
The next morning, Samaki went outside. "Daddy," she called, "You said we were going to go around Pride Rock?"

Adofo: *Yawn* Yes baby. An hey! Where's my morning kiss?!

Samaki licked his chin affectionately and bounced away. "Come on, Daddyyy!" she called.
As the two went out in the savanna, Samaki caught sight of Kaleema and Mbaya. "Daddy, she's so mean to that cub," she whispered.

[I think the way Adofo adopts Mbaya is that Kaleema gets killed by a rhino herd that stampeded around. And no, neither Adofo nor Samaki nor Mbaya get hurt.]
