Nyeusi was born to two royal leopards, Matu and Mbili. Mbili also gave birth to two more cubs, a girl, and a stillborn boy. Mbili named the black leopard 'Nyeusi' and the other female cub 'Isis'.

As a cub, Nyeusi was often bullied because she was seen in the eyes of her pride as a curse, because she had black fur. Eventually, they would beat and bruise her, often giving her scars. This went to the point that she began to believe that she needed to stand her ground, and eventually she began to bully others.

When she was a teen, she was forced to leave the pride. She went on a search for a mate and eventually bumped into Tamu and her gang of travelers. She was welcome to stay with them, and she did so, but because of how she treated them, she was soon left behind. She wandered for miles, and eventually ran into some Hyenas, who brutally murdered her.

In the end, it turns out that Nyeusi was still alive, but barely. Her back legs were broken, and she now had a scarred eye. She began to realize that she shouldn't bully anymore, and continued her journey, her whereabouts still unknown.
