Simba's ceremony. I used to love how the animals cheer at him and then bow down to him. I still love it of course but now I can't take it even nearly as seriously because of what they claimed to have caused the bowing. I hate it for ruining the most majestic moment of the beginning! But yet, I can't help but like the joke as it is. I just wish it didn't ruin what it ruins.
Also, the moment when Pumba pauses the movie and tells Timon to wait, and then goes to bathroom while Timon hums the "It's a Small World" tune. P comes back with a pile of bugs and the whole nose picking/tickly lines... All that is just such an utter waste of time. What, did they really think the expressions on T & P's faces in the paused film, would be funny enough to save the scene? Not.
Also, over-all the whole "parenthood" thing bothers me. It does amuse me, too, but bothers me enough to ruin the jokes essentially. Timon and Pumba could never parent anyone anyway - besides the whole Hakuna Matata philosophy would strictly forbid taking any parental responsibilities. I consider this one thing that directly contradicts the original story. Plus... Why the hell could Simba not go to drink/pee alone but needed Timon to go with. -.- *SIGH*
SO, at points, they tried way too hard. Whereas some jokes were effortless and really funny.
