The Lion Guard (2015 / 2016)
I'm scared that this is aimed at preschoolers. If this was just a disney channel show I'd be foaming at the mouth a catatonic state of fandom fever. But Disney Jr makes me scared, MLP is on the Hub or something I think, and is geared at about elementary school age children I'd think, which is about where the comfort zone is where it's kid-friendly but not anything too much for a little kid either. Basically I'm worried they might really mess this up, being a Disney Channel Jr production.

I'll give the first episode a shot and if it leaves me feeling like I wasted my time, I'm probably done with it.
Yeah, I hope they don't screw it up either.

If they do, I'll just refuse to accept it as part of the canon universe.

To admit, TLK3 isn't my favorite movie, but I still accept it as canon.

Truthfully so do I, Although I don't think about what happened in Lion King 1 1/2 when I watch Lion King.

As for Lion Guard being aimed at Preschoolers, well we know that going in. While I am not lowering my expectations, I am tempering them. To paraphrase what I said earlier in this thread. I do not expect this series to be as good as the movies that inspired it, I won't even expect it to be as good as past animated series inspired by movies, such as: Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, and Legend of Tarzan. Although being that Disney has made it known that Lion Guard takes place after Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. I don't expect them to screw anything up. Even though this show is aimed at Preschoolers I am sure that Disney must know That everyone that likes Lion King is going to want to at least take a look at Lion Guard. In fact I think Lion Guard could be better than Timon and Pumbaa was. Preschool show or not I think we can count on Lion Guard to take itself more seriously than Timon and Pumbaa did.

I'll agree with this. Were it not aimed at preschoolers I might have a bit more faith in it but these days preschooler concepts are ridiculous.
Still I do feel compelled to give this a shot.

It's great to see that they're making a new TLK TV Show! The Timon and Pumbaa show was an okay TV Show but I agreed with some fans that a TV Series starred Cub Simba and Nala will be a better idea. I think TLG will be a good TV Show because it's a TLK TV Show :mhm: . I don't care if it was made for preschoolers  !

I understand how people can feel this way, Hearing that this show was aimed at preschoolers was a slight downer for me as well. The concept was described as Lion King meets The Avengers. That sounds like an interesting concept to me and yes I know that The Avengers will not appear on the show. (Although both are Disney properties ;) ). I think that with the attention that is seemingly being paid to the continuity of the movies, there is a good chance that as other have said, Lion Guard will be a preschool show that is aware that it has viewers that are above the target demographic age.
