Iyana smiled smugly and nudged her brother. "Don't be such a sore loser."
Xi-Feng smirked when she saw her cubs bantering. "They probably got their competitive edge from me," she teased Baofeng.

[Baofeng]

Baofeng flicked his tail. "Or me, I was always competing with Snowstorm."

[Iri]

Xi-Feng smiled and purred a little. "The cubs are strong and healthy. I'm sure they'll grow up to be tough fighters. I'll be sad if they have to go."

[Baofeng]

Baofeng nuzzled Xi-Feng. "They will definitely be strong and healthy felines."

[Iri]

"I hope they can stay in our little pack," Xi-Feng said.

[I know, I know, "pack" sounds like wolves, but it isn't always.]

(I know it can mean other things.)
"I hope they will to," Baofeng said.

Xi-Feng rolled over. Night was falling. "Well, let's head to sleep."
"Good night," Adena said. Licha also curled up.
"Good night," Xi-Feng murmured to Baofeng.

"Good night," Baofeng murmured.
The next day...

Xi-Feng woke up early. She stretched and looked around for her cubs. But Blizzard, Willow, and Iyana were out of sight.
"Baofeng!" Xi-Feng whispered urgently. "Baofeng! The cubs are gone!"
