Hearing the reluctancy within Taraji’s reply, yet knowing that there was no other option at the moment, Kiara did her best to try and explain to her daughter, the reasoning’s for why she had to do this, speaking to her in a gentle tone as she smiled over at her.
”Well Cutie, it’s because of these.” Kiara stated, lightly bringing a fore paw over to Taraji’s little muzzle and gently brushing a paw toe over the little cub’s teeth, which were already set firmly in her tiny maw. ”We lions have sharp teeth for a reason Cutie. They are to help us when we eat.”
Moving over to the fallen wildebeest, Kiara skillfully tore off a large chunk of the tasty looking meat, carefully setting it between both herself and the curious cub. Positioning herself so that Taraji could have a clear view of her mouth, Kiara spoke in an encouraging tone to her daughter as she stated.
”Meat is very good for you Cutie. It will help you grow up nice and strong, just like Nala’s milk did. It’s also very yummy too. Watch Mommy and try and do what I do, okay Cutie?”
With this stated, Kiara moved in close and brought her muzzle towards the slab of meat, tilting her head at an angle so that her razor sharp incisors could easily cut through the tough hide of the wildebeest. Working in slow motion so that Taraji could follow her every movement, Kiara demonstrated the power of her jaws as she effortlessly severed off a nice sized piece of the delectable meal, swallowing it quickly and licking over her muzzle lips in a satisfied manner before she turned to watch her daughter to see if she would follow her lead.

A bit puzzled by his mate’s question and still feeling a bit exhausted, it took Kopa’s mind a short while to process just what was being asked of him. Blinking in confusion, Kopa replied in an uncertain tone as he slowly sat up.
”Hmm? What do you mean Hina? Did I do something wrong? I tried to look after Almasi as best I could.”
Looking over at Rahina with a perplexed expression, fearing that he had maybe done something to upset his mate, even though she didn’t seem agitated at all, Kopa quickly reflected over the past events, searching for any flaws that he might have done during the time in which Almasi was under his care. Unable to pin point any specifics however, Kopa found himself at a loss as he stated in a quiet voice.
”If I did mess something up Hina, I’m sorry. I never want to let you down and I always try my hardest to please you my precious. Did Almasi tell you something or what? Please, whatever it is, just tell me and I’ll try not to do it ever again.”
Totally missing the point of Rahina’s inquiry, Kopa felt himself becoming quite nervous as his fore paws shuffled upon the den floor, averting his gaze from his mate’s, just in case she would become cross with him for doing whatever it was that he couldn’t figure out that he had done in regards to caring for Almasi.

Listening intently to Shani’s reply, Zina’s suspicions were confirmed as she distinctly recalled just where she had seen this lion’s face from before. Building up a bit of confidence in the fact that she actually knew Shani to some degree, which put her typical fear of males aside, or at least, partially anyways, Zina picked up the pace so she was now walking along side Shani before she responded in an intrigued voice.
”Oh, is that so hmm? Funny, I never pegged you as the type to just blend into the background Shani. You always came off as the type that demanded respect, so call me naive, but what’s the catch? Why are you really here?”
Hearing Shani’s statement about the current king of the lands and knowing how opportunistic her current company was, Zina couldn’t resist a sly smirk as she thought for a moment before turning to Shani and addressing the male in a sly tone.
”Well, isn’t that just perfect. Do you remember why I came to your old pride way back when Shani? If not, let me refresh your memory and do forgive me if I stir up some painful memories.” Zina stated, a hint of sarcasm in her voice as she continued. ”think back to the day when several of your prized lionesses fell ill and your half wit of a father summoned a supposed amateur Shaman to cure what was ailing them. If I remember correctly, wasn’t one of those sick little lionesses your mate?”
