This is it, MLK.
Both of the USB3 ports on my notebook PC are broken.
I'm disassembling it now to try and resolder at least one new socket.
If I don't come back within two days, consider me deceased.
EDIT: I'm back now. I chickened out after I discovered how small the pins were.
So I decided to take the broken tab that broke and carefully slide it into the port so that all the pins fit perfectly into it. It'll hold. I can use my headset and keyboard now, but I'm still struggling to type because I'm still pretty shaken up after I accidentally put a dent in the hard drive.
Oh, sweet Zazu, I'll take good care of you from now on. I'll get you that SSD as soon as I get my next allowance. Please hang in there, dear old buddy. Just please don't leave me.
