Sarabi

Sarabi is the thoughest lioness.
She is the leader with hunting and she stands against Scar.
She is my favorite Lion King lioness.
She is the wisest of all Nala, Kiara and other lionesses. And a great mother.
It is sad that she is not appearing in Simbas Pride actually.

Why couldn't they just use another voice actress? They changed Zazu's voice actor in SP too - and his role in TLK was bigger than Sarabi's.

True. I think they could at least make Sarabi appear at the presentation of Kiara, just to show that she was still alive. If changing the voice actress was such a big stress, the animators could still make her appear in some scenes without speaking.

Indeed! Maybe they didn't want to have an old lioness in the battle... They wanted her to be dead. But then, what was Zira doing in the movie?

I hope it is still okay to post in this thread.

Like many, I wish that Disney had given Sarabi and Sarafina more character based time. More involvement with their cubs or even, perhaps Sarabi could have been the one to have persuaded Nala to go and find help for the Pridelands. That would have been great to see.

As a character, minor although she is. Sarabi executes exactly what makes her a valuable Queen and mate to Mufasa and the Kingdom. Not only is she wise, but she is also brave (you have to be when you are faced up against Scar), she is thoughtful and has a sense of humour (as shown during the bath scene). She's a great mother and a loyal mate. Actually she and Mufasa are quite equal in that way. They both ''complete'' each other.

Out of all the lionesses, Sarabi is my favourite. It's such a shame that she wasn't in Simba's Pride and it's such a shame her voice actress died. I wish that they could have explained Sarabi's non presence but that is, I suppose where fanfiction comes in.

Yeah, I think she should have been in SP, even if she didn't speak. I don't think she died though.

Not really true. Why would they replace Zazu's voice and not Sarabi's?

I don’t know, but Zazu did have a larger (and more important) part to play in SP. They simply couldnn’t cut him out of the cast, regardless of wether Rowan Atkinson could provide the voice or not.
I suppose Sarabi was more.. get-rid-of-able?? (my English failed me there)
They could have easily gotten a new voice for Sarabi, but chose not to.

We just have to assume that she died sometime between TLK and SP. I think it would be great if the animators had:

1: Made Sarabi appear in scenes without speaking. (so they didn’t have to get a new voice actor for this character)

2: Work in a referance to her death somewhere, to make it final and clear why she doesn’t appear. F.ex, Nala could say something to Kiara when she goes on her first hunt "your grandmother would have been so proud of you" or Rafiki could have said "Ah Mufasa (and Sarabi) every day Kiara grows more beautiful..."

But still it wouldve been nice if Sarabi was in the 2nd movie but its a shame that her voice actor.
