Oh man I'm sorry, but DON'T stop fighting! If you do then there's no chance! But even if the other girl gets him, don't freak out, most relationships in high school don't last. Mainly because once two people start dating do they see the all the bad things in a person. He could dump her in just a few weeks. And since you gave him that note, he'll remember it and decide to try to find a better girl to date. Or even if you findout it doesn't work out with her, comfort him! If you do, it shows you care, and with that note he will shift over to you quickly and he'll ask you out. just keep fighting and don't give up hope, it's not over till both of them say "I do".
