Troy:

Troy looked up at the Career from District one and lightly scowled, then loosened up.

"Yeah Mr.Guy on Fire,"he said finally resting his hands on the handles. The balcony was sealed up by electric currents to stop escaping tributes. He didn't dare go any nearer than that and took a few steps back.

"Who's this Katherine?She seems like the one that's going to bust us all out of the games, in a good way..."he said.

He thought of Amelia and Katherine, he'd have to betray them sooner or later and it would end in a major bloodbath.Not if we escape, he said to himself. Then he shook the thought, even those who dared thinking about defying the capitol would end up dead, or severely tortured during the games. He noticed Austin smiling and nodding.

"So you really love her huh?"he asked.

(He never voiced the words to Troy. That was just his plan. But I'll go along with it.)

Austin Grey

"Yes. More than anything. I know sooner or later we'll have to kill each other, but I'd rather die protecting Katherine or Amelia than us all dying, with no chance of us winning," I said. "Wouldn't you do the same for Amelia?"

Amelia Fredrick

I was lying in bed, trying to go to sleep. The Games started tomorrow. I couldn't go in tired. That would only cause myself to be even more vulnerable. But I couldn't stop thinking about what Troy had said. From.the moment he met me, he had loved me. I had never that the same of him, but I never gave it much thought to anyone. Maybe if I had, I would have realized it. Unable to sleep, I walked out of the room and up to the roof. Troy had shown me the place about three days ago, and it was a nice, peaceful place to clear your mind. But as soon as I got onto the roof, I was surprised to find two boys there: Troy and the boy from District 1, Austin.

Troy

Troy lightly flinched at the words. He thought of Austin's friendly appearance at the interview with Caesar, maybe it wasn't a look, it was so hard to look at him with hatred even though he knew they couldn't be friends for longer than they hoped. He wondered what was going on in Austin's mind when he let out those words. He wasn't very brave and didn't like to admit it much. He thought of trying to put his life on the line for protecting Amelia, he couldn't do it. But he would try to.

"Yes,I love her too,"he said shamefully knowing inside, he would be battling himself with the question for days until the game begins."I hate these games, I hate how it is us..."he said, lowering his voice each time, so that that the last few words sounded like whispers.

Katherine:

Katherine lied wide awake in her bed unable to sleep. She knew Austin forgot to answer her last question, was this a little skit to save their lives or did he really mean it? Katherine has never hung out with him much and saw him sitting in the stairs of his house, with dirt stained on his face to get away from his mother. She always remembered him as shy and independent but all that changed when his name was read aloud from the stupid voice of Liana. She didn't know and think if she liked him back, then she remembered injuring him. Oh god.,she said to herself. She woke up early and went to the rooftop expecting him there, but found the two tribute from The Seam District there with him.

"What are you guys doing here?"she asked,hating herself for always sounding impolite.

But she didn't care for impolite anymore, one of them is going to end up pointing a knife towards her throat and killing her. She choked down the thought and looked up for the boy from district 12, Troy. She could tell that the girl besides him,Amelia was just as confused as she was.

(You're welcome. And Amelia can "see" them the same way Toph can see things. ;-])
Austin Grey
Yes. I don't like the way even these games were set up," I admitted. At the sound of Katherine's voice, I quickly turned around and saw not only Katherine, but also Amelia standing by the door entrance.
"Hi, Kat!" I greeted her. I didn't know if she liked being called Kat, but it was easier for me. "Um, I don't know if I should tell you the plan, as it was sort of supposed to be a secret from you two."
"I can tell you one thing, though," Amelia said. "I've been up here long enough to hear both of them say that they love us, and they would die for us." She gave alittle smirk, knowing that was the plan. I glanced, wide-eyed, at her, then glared at her. But my eyes drifted over to Katherine, who I knew wouldn't leave without being told the plan.

"Alright. After the interviews, I started thinking of a way to have Troy join us, and maybe us join the Careers, but not to kill either of you. Rather, we would try and make sure they couldn't fins you. Especially you, Katherine. Do you remember what happened four years ago? Everyone was keen on killing the girl with the 11. If it wasn't for Peeta joining them to lead them away, Katniss probably would have died then."

Troy Waterfern:

Troy glanced up at Katherine, the girl on fire and the girl with the score of 11, and maybe even the most liked tribute of the games so far. He found himself in a bit awkward position when they all teamed up, looking at one another, as if expecting an attack. He looked up at Amelia who seemed a bit drawn back at the sight of Katherine.

"Maybe we shouldn't tell them the plan Austin...the Capitol is always watching. By doing this, we can risk all of our lives. I am telling you, this plan can work to an extent, the Capitol is NOT going to allow us to do this again. If Katherine and Amelia really know about the plan, they might not act natural and it will all be another drama,"Troy said pulling Austin to the side.

Katherine:

Katherine wisped her long, brown hair to one side of the shoulder and looked at Amelia, at her opaque eyes. Whenever she took a glance, those eyes caught her attention. She tried to shake that thought out, but kept on getting drawn to it. She began to think of Austin's plan, why did everyone refer to her as Katniss and Peeta? She looked over at Austin as the two talked and walked back.

"Okay, so you just find some other lover, try to join with them, and that's all?Making an ally during the day before the games is not the best thing to do Austin. They can kill us any moment. Sure, Amelia...might not be much of a threat, but those two want to survive. You can't just join with them!The Capitol hates me, everyone will want to kill me, and they will end up killing you two. Having these two lag along might not be the best plan,"Katherine said uneasily.

She looked across and saw Spencer again. He was talking with the other Career tributes but didn't seem to have 'flirted' with her as much just the day before the games. But he eyes her as a threat after that 11.

[Queen Elsa]

Austin Grey

"Katherine, you don't get it. The more of us there is, the better the chances. If we split up..." my voice faltered. I couldn't finish that sentence. I brushed my fingers through my hair and looked at her. "Listen, you don't have to join us. We were just going to save yours and Amelia's skin for the first few days. I don't think the Careers are stupid enough to keep us in the group for very long, so I just wanted to give you as much time as possible. But do what you want. I don't care. But I won't let you die early, if at all." With that, I walked off the roof, but not without shooting the boy from 11 a warning glare.
Amelia Fredrick

I walked down the steps with Troy, heading back to our rooms. "I felt that Spencer boy looking at Katherine. It looks like Austin will be having some competition," I said, laughing. Then, I turned serious and, just before Troy could go into his room, I blocked him with my arm. "Are you really going to team up with him? I mean, I'm fine with whatever, but I don't want you to get hurt. You've been the nicest person I ever met..."

Troy Waterfern:

Troy sighed and looked up at Amelia refusing her arm even though he knew he was being impolite. Austin's question had rung through his mind the entire day and the sight of Amelia slightly angered him.

"Yes-you don't have to tell me that. And it's not like we have a choice anyways. Austin and Katherine have made the best impression, if we stick by them, we will get donations and Katherine can shoot and Austin can probably fight in case we get an attack,"Troy said.

He glanced up at Amelia and knew what they were both thinking. It was like chewing on a piece of bone and dumping it in the trash, that was the case, but they had to do it. Troy wondered if Austin had any plans of his own to backfire on Troy and Amelia. When he thought of what he said to Amelia, he felt vulnerable, they both felt weak and helpless,like they couldn't do anything, but they were not. They were going to survive the games, they just had to get closer to Austin and Katherine, the new Peeta and Katniss.

Katherine Keene:

Katherine felt a surge of anger and pride. Save her skin? Austin should be the one worrying if at all, but she liked his determination. She didn't see Jacel and the others, they were probably signing for sponsors. She knocked at his room and it was slightly parted revealing Austin looking a bit...gloomy as he buried his face into the covers. Was it Spencer?No... She opened the door halfway taking a step in, feeling like an intruder all the way.

"Austin! You have no idea what you said back there. I am fine, I really can survive by myself out there okay?"she said, sitting on the edge of his mattress.

She hated always being treated like a child, which she wasn't. She hated Austin thinking he was her lifeline,even though he wasn't getting benefited from his own plan. When she saw him not replying, she lowered her voice.

"I can shoot, I survived by myself in the woods and stayed back for a couple of days. I know the games are different, and the people are not going to be animals, but I'm fine. I don't need you going everywhere to keep a lookout for me. I'm not helpless..."she said quietly.

[Queen Elsa]

Amelia Fredrick

"I know. And I'll join the alliance with you. It sounds like a good idea. I just hope we didn' t just make a huge mistake," I say. I let him go and walk into my room, where I lay in bed for many hours, unable to sleep. Somehow, I do fall asleep, and the next thing I know, I'm waking up refreshed, but with a hard feeling: today was the beginning of the Games: the time when the killing really began.

Austin Grey

"I won't argue with you, Katherine," I said. "I agree, you can defend yourself. I just want you to know that I'll be there for you, even if it costs my life. " I rested my hand on her shoulder, then pulled the blankets over my body. "Good night, Katherine. Get as much sleep as you can. It will be a very long day tomorrow." Without a response, I slowly fall asleep.

Katherine looked at the arm he placed on his shoulder, icy cold and smooth. She let him go, he had a point. She went inside her mattress, and realized Jacel and the others were gone for a whole day, hopefully it paid off and they were going to be sponsors tomorrow. She fell asleep forcefully and woke up, she set a mind alarm and sat upright. She looked at the time and then at Binta who returned with her gear in one corner. She slowly followed Jacel instead where Austin stood beside her.

"Any last advice, now might be the last time,"she asked eagerly, with her heartbeat multiplying each time.

"Yes-try to stay alive,"he smiled patting her on the back.

She saw Liana, rushing towards them and giving them a hug, with her hair slightly straightened,"You've been the best tributes we have had so far,"she said.

"Thanks, you've been really great too,"she said,forcing a smile.

She followed Binta who dressed her up in a tight grey suit that was supposed to help her survive in all conditions.

"This is a thermal wear, so I'm guessing they are going to take you to a tropic forest, a desert maybe,"he said, then reached out for something else.

It was her pin. She cupped her mouth and rushed towards him in abig hug as she quickly hid it under her sleeve. She heard a woman's voice to a countdown from 10. She moved away and entered a tube that would direct her towards the games. She looked down at her arm where her tracker had been placed a few moments ago. The tube closed, and fear suddenly crept through her body. She placed her hands and looked around as she was placed into the arena. It was a tropical forest, he was right. She spotted Austin across of her, nodding.

[Queen Elsa]

Austin Grey

I just stood there, listening to Jacel, Liana, and Katherine talk back and forth for a few minutes. Then, I am escorted to the hovercraft. A tracker is injected into all twenty-four of our bodies. Then, we reach the place where our stylists would finish us up. Patricia is standing there, holding out an outfit.

"This is your gamesuit. It's thermal, so I'm assuming you may be going into an arena where the tempersture baires," she informs me, then begins putting it on. "There! Is that too tight?"

"No! It's perfect!" I say. "Thank you, Patricia, for everything."

"Don't thank me just yet," she says, then puts something under my jacket. I look to see that it's my glitter rose Sarah had given me. "It took me awhile tonget it in, since roses normally have thorns," she informs me. "After deep inspection, they finally allowed it to go throufgh." I hug her, and shereturns the hug. A voice starts counting down from ten. I sigh and walk.into the tube, and wave at her as I'm going up. I blink into the sunlight, and I see Patricia was right. A forest always had varying temperatures. I stared at Katherine, who made eye contact with me, and nodded. Let's do this.

Amelia Fredrick

Walllace put on my gamesuit, mentioning something about it being for thermal wear. "Alright, Girl with Sparkles," he said finally. "Time to show them what you got. Oh, and I almost forgot something." He pulled something out of his pocket and placed it on the palm of my hand. I rubbed my thumb across it and realized it was my pin.

"Thank you, Wallace," I said. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you, too," he said, returning the hug. The countdown started, and we broke from the hug. "Good luck," he says, and I give one last smile before walking into the tube. 3...2...1... I am then lifted up onto my pedestal. The gong started counting down. It was time to finish this.
