lol, my mom is so paranoid. My sister was driving the van a few weeks ago; her lane gave out, so she had to floor it to get back on the interstate. Ever since, my mom has been complaining about the van sounding rough and whiny on acceleration, like doing that actually hurt the car.

No. It's fine. It's supposed to sound like that. Any four-stroke engine is going to sound like that at 3k or higher RPM. Heck, it sounds quieter than my car does. Although my car has better acceleration at that range...
