I think its not so much a matter of black vs white, more of a matter of light vs dark...we subconciously associate darkness with danger, fear, and malevolence. So Scars darker colours symbolise this. They dont symbolise him being some evil black guy

What's the point of him looking for discrimination in the film to begin with? Seriously, if he wants to look deep into TLK, that's okay but what he stated can pretty much be perceived in other films too if you want to look so deep.

Scar isn't gay, he made a pass at Nala who is like the prettiest lioness of TLK. I guess he forgot that they cut that scene from production because it was deemed sexual harassment, and then added it to the Broadway play since its target was an older age group.

this guy is what I call an educated idiot. lol, I did have like 5 paragraphs explaining why he was wrong on everything (except maybe the Nazi thing which I'd say they might've actually tried for) but I had to go out of the room for awhile and it signed me out so I lost it all lol.

but I'll bring up one thing. I think it's stupid to make Scar out as the evil black guy and the Pridelanders as the good white guys for more than just racism. Lebo Morake, a black South African who did much of TLK's music, really associated with the movie because like Simba he too was exhiled and returned home after the bad leader was overthrown. for Lebo, Simba was like a mixture of him and Nelson Mandella. so there's that theory out the door.

well, a second thing too. the hyenas can't be seen as from the ghetto since they were original from the Pridelands. in Tale of Two Brothers, the hyenas were allowed in the Pridelands. it was likely due to breaking the law and poaching that either Ahadi or Mufasa banished them there. so it's more like jail than a ghetto. and in America there is no caste system, so lower class can become upper class with hard work (or if they're lucky the lottery or rich relative's inheritance). that's sorta the American dream so he's WAAAAAY off base saying that America is trying to support this crap.
