^ Real universities close only for the big holidays. For instance, we close for Thanksgiving, Labor Day, and other than that it's pretty much just Spring Break, Summer break, Fall break, and Winter break. We occasionally have a random day off here or there, but not today. Today I have a night lab actually, and I'll have been here from 8am to about 9pm when I finally get to leave... and my classes are only a small portion of that time, 12:40pm-3:45pm...

But veteran's day is a big holiday. All that edjumpication on a day like this isn't very patriotic.

Of course, I'm spending my holiday doing homework, so there's that.

Well it's not big enough, not here. Here we've always had school on this day, all the way from elementary up. There's not got a big celebration that goes with it, and people don't go out of town to celebrate Veteran's Day, so they've always made us carry on as normal.
