Nope, but you have to retire them when they reach 25 months because then basically they're old farts. Customs are immortal, can breed forever and compete forever.

Males can, females can only breed once every eight days. Four days to have the baby ("Mwit"), four days to recover. By the time she's done, the baby is fully grown.
