[PRIVATE] Two Families, One Exile

All of a sudden their parents appeared, causing Marini to stratle and turn around to face them. "We didn't wander to the forest mom." she said with her innocent and quilty tone. Though this time she didnt have to because she really didn't do anything wrong.

She then looked at Tange, before whispering to him, "Looks like someone's in trouble." she said, eager on seeing how their parents were going to punish Kahvatu if he turned out to have gone into the forest

Mufasa was still trying to figure out what they could possibly have stumbled across, when he heard a faint whisper in the air. He did not quite catch what was said, but he could tell the voice had come from somewhere close by. His instincts as king took over, and he placed himself between his group and the voice, his claws unsheathing. "Show yourself, stranger!" he called, managing to put some of his usual power into his deep voice despite his illness. He might be injured, but Mufasa was determined to protect his family and friends from further harm, and as such was willing to fight any would-be attackers if he needed to, not realising that the small voice actually belonged to a cub.

----------

Tanga's face fell as his parents appeared. "Rini's right, mum...we didn't go in...we were just looking, that's all," he said, hoping his parents would believe him...although he felt his wet fur should help convince them, proving that he had been in the ocean, rather than in the forest. "I promise, we haven't been in there." Although he could not entirely vouch for Marini on that promise, Tanga felt that Marini had not gone in...if she was going to go on some sort of adventure, he liked to believe that she would ask them if they wanted to come first.

But when Marini whispered to him, he looked around, once more seeing no sign of their brother. From the tone in her voice, Marini seemed convinced that Kahvatu had wandered into the forest...and Tanga was not all that inclined to disagree. He did seem to be the most adventurous of them, probably in an attempt to prove that his infant spots did not make him a baby. "Yeah...but I hope not," he added. He hated getting into trouble...but he also hated it when his parents had to punish one of his siblings. If Kahvatu had wandered into the forest, Tanga dreaded the punishment that was most likely awaiting his little brother.

Kahvatu gulped, he heard a voice from the other side of the forest. He wished he didnt wander off without telling anyone. His ears drooped and looked down towards his little paws as he slowly padded out towards the other side of the forest and showed himself. When he looked up he saw a lion and lioness's with cubs and thought. Another pride? I hope they arent Dangerous.. But they cant be.. there are cubs. He thought looking towards the cubs then back at the Lion with his ears drooping back again.

Simba had been too busy pondering why his Uncle Scar was being so mean, and if they would ever be able to return home to the Pridelands to notice what the others were talking about. Until he notices the new cub, close to his age.

Curious about the newcomer, he takes a step forward towards the cub.

Mufasa was a little stunned when a small, pale-furred cub appeared before, looking extremely young considering the presence of infant spots still on his body. His size suggested an older cub, however, leaving Mufasa a little confused. The cub looked rather frightened, with his stance low and ear laid low, which Mufasa did not find surprising. Most strangers could be slightly put off by his large, powerful presence.

Before he could do anything in regards to communicating with the cub, he noticed Simba stepping towards the cub, obviously curious. "No, Simba," he said firmly, holding a paw out to stop his son from approaching. The cub did not look dangerous, but Mufasa's trust had been shaken by Scar's brutal betrayal, and he planned on keeping his guard up until he was sure the cub meant no harm...or was not part of some kind of ambush. "Just stay back a moment," he said, still addressing Simba, giving his son a firm look to reinforce the message to the adventurous, and often rebellious cub, that this not a request that should be argued.

Turning his attention back to the cub, Mufasa sat down, trying to keep his body language passive to show the cub that he meant no harm...as long as he was not trying to fool them in any way. "Who are you, young one?" he asked. "Where is your family?" Mufasa seriously doubted that such a young cub was able to survive out here all on his own, and surmised that he must have family somewhere nearby. Although Mufasa kept his voice neutral, this presented a problem, as that meant that he had wandered onto another lion's land, meaning he would most like have to move on, and find some other place to rest. His body reminded him of his need to stop and recover as he coughed a couple of times, managing to suppress it before it became a wracking fit that he knew would worry Sarabi and Sarafina to no end.

Ardahi glared at Sykara, answering in a rather worried manner: ''No,I haven't seen him.''
''I hope he hasn't wandered into the forest'',Ardahi thought to himself.
He then looked towards Tanga and Marini, noticing their whispering. ''What are you two hiding?!'',he said in a very strict voice.

Marini jumped again when her dad noticed her quiet talk with Tanga, "Nothing daddy, I haven't seen at all since I woke up this morning." she said defensively, not wanting to get her father mad. He could sometime really scare her when he became angry

Ardahi sighed,he was worried. No one knew where Kahvatu has wandered off to. ''Okay then.'',he said to Marini in a much calmer voice. ''We have to go look for him,he might be in danger'' he said. ''I'll go into the forest, you all stay here and look near the shore''. He ran off into the forest, hoping that he wouldn't find him there, while having the darkest thoughts of what might have happened to him.

He heard a deep voice coming from nearby,so he went there to look. While hiding in the bush,he saw Kahvatu facing a rather big and muscular lion. He instinctively roared and jumped out in front of his cub, while looking the big lion straight in the eyes. ''Who are you?'',he said.

Tanga sat back, quivering a little as his dad caught him and Marini whispering. When he ran off into the forest, telling them to stay back and search the beach for him, Tanga's eyes widened in horror as Ardahi's words fully registered in his young mind. He might be in danger...

He gave Marini a horrified look first, before turning his scared gaze on Sykara. "Kah's going to be alright...right, mum?" he asked, his voice quivering with fearful concern. He was close to his siblings, and did not want anything bad to happen to Kahvatu. It would kill him if his brother ended up being hurt...or worse.

----------

Before the young cub could answer Mufasa's question, the lion got his answer as another adult male...most likely the cub's father, burst from the bushes, roaring aggessively and placing himself in front of the cub, obviously intent on protecting him at all costs.

Mufasa also went into 'protective father' mode, rapidly pushing Simba behind him, placing himself in front of all four of his companions, determined to protect them despite his injured state. He roared back...or at least attempted to. His wounds, fading voice, and illness all conspired to turn his roar into a loud wheeze, which quickly descended into a heavy coughing fit, one he could not control. As he fought to reign in his hacking coughs, he realised that the situation was bad. With his current condition, he was in no state to beat this lion in any sort of power play or fight, and his illness was rapidly worsening.

But that did not stop him trying, as he pulled his coughing under control, before looking back up into this male's eye. "My name is Mufasa...who are you?" he replied, trying to put as much of his regal power as he could into his hoarse voice.

Ardahi was looking at the unknown lion very cautiously. He was clearly showing signs of illness and injury, but then again, maybe it was all a trick. Ardahi didn't move one inch, nor show any sympathy in his determined stare. He just kept in thought what would have happened if he got there a bit later.
''I am Ardahi!'' he said, while keeping his eye on every move Mufasa was making.

''What are you doing here, why were you facing my son?'',he said in a rather angrily voice.
